🚨 | IMPORTANT: According to @FredericFerret, Alpine is set to redesign the geometry of its rear suspension in 2027. Alpine also invested in 2024 in a new gearbox dyno (@wearetherace). Alpine could well be producing its own rear suspension and gearbox for 2027.

☀️ | Temperatures are expected to be around 25 degrees for qualifying and the race this weekend in Mexico, which are good conditions for Alpine. 👍 The biggest challenge will be cooling the engine, as there is less air due to the altitude.

This weekend will be the first time the 2026 cars race at a track at such a high altitude (Mexico🇲🇽, 2,285 meters above sea level). Brakes, engines, everything will be harder to cool. The systems will be pushed to their limits. Reliability will be the number one priority.

🚨 | There will be 3 straight mode zones in Mexico🇲🇽 Alpine could be a real rocketship on the straights in Mexico if they bring back their "reversed" rear wing. The low air density reduces drag on the straights.

Colapinto on J.Clarkson: "He did an interview on his own, it's nothing related to the team. I think he's always been kind of joking, I don't really know him, but they told me. I try to improve the situation of course, it kind of needs help from a lot of people, not just from me"

Franco Colapinto has had four DNFs in his last five races (including sprint races). This is the largest number of DNFs in such a short period at Enstone since Hulkenberg's (2017, Renault). Prior to that, he had the longest streak without a DNF since Abu Dhabi 2024. 😓

If David Sanchez does indeed leave Alpine, the Alpine A527 will largely be Jason Sommerville’s car. He was the aerodynamics designer for the 2026 regulations at the FIA (joined Alpine in May). Mike Elliott has only just arrived, so he won’t have an immediate impact.
