That “ask me before charging” default makes sense. We think about this a lot at Altertable with always-on agents querying business data.
Giving users control over spend matters even more when usage runs continuously.

I think we could help, if you're open to another alternative ;-)
Unpopular opinion: your data warehouse is fine.
Agents don't need a new one. They need context: definitions, permissions, what changed since yesterday.
Keep it where it lives, or host it with us. Either way, add the context.
Most AI analytics products focus on query generation. The harder systems problem is context retrieval: before any LLM writes a single line of SQL. If that retrieval layer is fuzzy, the answer is wrong even when the SQL looks perfect.
Altertable is built around that boundary.
𝙾𝚁𝙳𝙴𝚁 𝙱𝚈 𝚝𝚜 𝙳𝙴𝚂𝙲 𝙻𝙸𝙼𝙸𝚃 𝙽 is one of the easiest ways to accidentally benchmark your storage engine instead of your product.
If metadata can’t prune most files, “recent events” quietly becomes a full-table tax. That’s not a query problem. It’s a layout problem.
There is no single “winning” lakehouse table format in 2026.
What has emerged instead is a more interesting split.

Working with @TheDesignCrew on our website was a blast ✨
Seb , Lucas & team took our super complex data infrastructure concepts and turned them into visuals people actually understand.
So grateful and so proud of what we built 🙌

Well, if we remove the gperf-generated code it’s not that much, and absolutely worth it! I committed the generated code so anyone can compile without having gperf on their machine. Including CI.

Just 3h today to push a 4000x optimization to an OSS project we use (github.com/hatamiarash7/duck…).
I didn't do a single line of C++ since 10y. This would have taken me 3 weeks before the AI era. 😅
AI didn’t just speed me up, it changed how I think.
At @AltertableAI we're not just building faster, we’re building differently 🤘
This is the new norm 🚀

The data section hit especially hard - "If a number changes and nothing in your priorities, resource allocation, or execution changes, that number is trivia."
This is exactly the data platform problem we see. Companies have dashboards full of metrics but don't drive decisions. 💯
