I love the theory that Toby was referring to Gaster here. Maybe Gaster took over Toby's original concept of Deltarune which had Eram as the main antagonist and a different art style, similar to the Mantle game's. After seeing Toby's ending, Gaster wanted to change it to his own.

The idea that Eram was the original villian of DELTARUNE before Gaster changed it might actually have some interesting credence! You are only able to see Eram through “games” (the MANTLE game, the ARGs) and Forgotten Man implies the orginal world once looked like MANCOUNTRY

Starting to feel like chapters 1-4 all reflect some of the different endings that the game will have Lock in Chapter 1 - Neutral Route/True Pacifist. Good or bad, the end doesn’t change. (You don’t get the walkthrough if you don’t do pacifist though, that’s 100% intentional)

in regard to how it connects to toby’s composing, the idea is similar: > introducing a key motif early on > subverting that motif, changing it, flipping it around > return to the original motif > then harmoniously combine the subversion with the original into the climax

erams "secret hiding place" plays NORTHERNLIGHT and has the shelter key dess room is her personal space that she might call a secret hiding place and has a shelter code in it and has the northern lights as a wallpaper but sure nothing is real at all

All in all feels incongruent with weird route. While the area in the shelter we use to get to ERAM is the place on the map that would be reminiscent of the Lake, it’s quite strange that we’re here as Kris alone? This makes more sense when you consider that we’ll need to use up-
