Meritocracy is up! πŸ™Œ Harvard's Asian admittance has doubled alongside the 2X increase in the Asian share of the US population since 2000 Asian immigration has brought in talented, driven folks & the system is getting better at rewarding that drive to excel in elite spaces

No they aren't and I think people need to be honest that they are pushing this narrative because of their own resentment and insecurities about their financial position right now Everyone is not in a bad position right now, many people are doing ok and that's just how it goes

As we lose interest in the regionalism of America, we forget how niche some history is I learn new things all the time This is especially fascinating to me
this is my niche but i’m quick to remind yall punjabi men abandoned their mexican wife’s and kids when they allowed punjabi women to migrate into the country and many of those families look down on punjabi-mex kids

Now *this* is local tax reform I can get behind, especially since commercial property values have fallen in cities and more of the tax burden is going to residential owners
Also important: AirBnb's are a commercial use, not residential! They are not "someone's home." They are small hotels! As such, they should pay **significantly** higher local property taxes. Reduce property taxes on all units that have long term residents (rented or owned)

My theory is an early retirement buyout so they can offload older workers and hirer new younger ones under employment terms with fewer guaranteed benefits

I strongly second construction firms Large national and international firms are heavily investing in technology because it does save labor hours for the costs Many are opening whole divisions ad offering services those services separately to other firms
Underrated places to look for tech jobs: - Construction firms - Law firms - Hospitals - Colleges & Universities - Local government - Utility & Energy companies - Insurance companies - Luxury Automotive Corporate Offices

Boston is one of the most multilingual cities in America. πŸ—£οΈ More than 100 languages are spoken across the city. πŸ™οΈ About 245,000 residents speak a language other than English at home. Boston's diversity is one of its greatest strengths.

BREAKING: "Speculative data center debt is being repackaged and sold to pension and retirement funds, university endowments, and other institutional investors in a manner eerily reminiscent of the subprime bubble," per AFR

What else distinguishes the 1% from everyone else? Having a stay at home spouse...
What distinguishes the 1% from the merely affluent? How about having a third child. New post on a topic I've long been fascinated by (the economics and financing of having a third kid) where I finally felt bold enough to go into the latest SCF microdata to get a good answer. /1
