So glad I didn't pawn off my old Mac when I got the new one. @Tailscale is also S tier. Added a HDMI dummy, Al Dente to keep charging in check, @netdatahq to keep track of the vitals. Using @get_bb_app as my daily driver though, desktop app UX is just better over @herdrdev
Every developer needs an AI shed: An always-on machine running on their tailscale network where the majority of their herdr agents are running.

I’ve done this when working on android. Went through multiple used phone stores to find the oldest device I could find as a test device
Every software developer should own a potato PC. It's the easiest way to ensure your application is fast enough. Put your agents to work within it and watch the weight drop. There's no reason a machine from ten years ago shouldn't fly like superman.

Excellent read, the mental model for effort levels is key
What is effort really? When do you change it it and why not just use max effort for everything? I dove deep into this problem, looking into evals and doing my own tests and I was quite surprised by the results.

I’m convinced 90% of a founder's job is to just do 3 things: - be delusional in your optimism - push everyone to move faster - make it crystal clear what to work on

Is there any todo app that captures tasks as being part of an open loop or thread? I want to have it group tasks related to that loop pulled in together, and the ability to set a priority on the loop itself, not tasks. Examples of loops - buy a software to fulfill a requirement (finite), make improvements on my website (ongoing). It should also ideally track when a loop is pending on an action on me or another person, check through my comm channels on updates, and create/update tasks accordingly. I tried creating this with @todoist and @NousResearch Hermes, but it’s quite brittle, and doesn’t have good “loop” views in UI, or loop primitives.

Having Fable and Sol fight it out makes waiting for them so much more entertaining

90% of software *should* look and work the same. millions of hours have been wasted by software makers and users trying to create, and figure out how to use, special snowflakes.

Been using the preview, cut down times for our type checks 5x, without taking a dump on RAM. Now just need it to cut down my build times @nextjs 🙏

The gap between 'AI generated something useful' and 'a coworker actually opens it' is mostly a rendering problem.

Hey @aarondfrancis - I want to have my scratchpad up (with my plan) on my second monitor while I continue chat on the first. Any way to do this within Solo right now? Or have a vertical splitscreen where I can have a scratchpad and chat side-by-side? I've also been looking for some way to have claude plans show up in an easily reviewable way outside the terminal. Current workflow with Warp is to open a vert split, run a command to figure out what the path to the plan is, cmd+click that to open with the markdown renderer warp has. Though I like Solo's shortcuts, notifications more. From what it looks like scratchpads were made exactly for this? Thanks for the free tier, I'm looking for reasons to upgrade!

This has been my biggest hack for getting more work out of AI too. I’ve personally sat down and installed @WisprFlow for 4 of my team mates after seeing them type one line prompts
i'm not really a big "one secret that makes ai good" guy but i will say it does so much better when your prompts are longer and it's so much easier to produce long prompts with voice, completely changed things for me
