don't get me wrong i love pixels as much as the next nerd, but human computer interaction design was a field that interested me because it wasn't exclusively about visuals and function. anthropology and psychology felt fundamentally intrinsic to how we shape the way humans use technology.

Sorry, but why is that we’re fetishizing designing “faster” like that’s been the bottleneck???

“designing much faster than the others” — this so daft and makes it clear they don’t understand design at all. “Designing fast” (or slow) is just not a thing. If you conflate “producing ui by piecing together stuff” and “design” then the former (which is a form of assembly-line practice) can surely be fast or slow.
What makes the practice of design challenging is not how to put a ui or poster together, it’s what the pieces are, what the message is, what is being communicated, how it all works together.
So many of today’s “design” AI tools focus almost exclusively on the production part, on putting stuff together. I’d love to see an AI design tool that forms a deep understanding of a problem over the course of days or months and works like a creative partner. Call me on my bullshit, thinks about the whole, isn’t concerned really about the final arrangement of elements as much as it would understand the story and the message.
Revolut's designers are moving off Figma.
Storonsky spotted one team designing much faster than the others. What they did:
1. Gave an LLM Revolut's design system at the code level
2. Prompted it to build new flows on top of that system
3. Got a live interface they can click through on a laptop or phone, instead of static frames
Result: 3-4x faster. Now he's pushing it to every designer at Revolut.
His job, as he describes it: find what works in one team and spread it across the company.

The whole problem with Bangalore’s design community is that when something new is done, y’all sit like losers cribbing about how “this is the new norm”, you know why, because all you know is to copy. And you have no soul or voice of your own. Go reflect
I love this!! So inspiring
Hi, it's Darshita. I am a designer.
And I'm pitching myself in public 'cause I'm done with a year full of anxiety.
Everyone says design is dead and AI killed it. But the real parasite was hiding in plain sight.
So here's my film, DESIGN IS DEAD. She's bold, fearless and very PINK 💖
Hiring? My DMs are open.
The only explanation I have for this era of technology is that all the UX researchers are dead (or have sold their souls to the devil) because no one is asking for this shit and there is an industry-wide gaslighting occurring.
Excited about our new Bee devices launching today. They turn your conversations into summaries, to-dos, and reminders, so the details are there when you need them.
Bee Frontier goes on your wrist or clips to your clothing, and Bee Eclipse snaps to the back of your phone to catch what you'd otherwise forget throughout your day, whether it's notes from a class you're taking, the details of a trip you're planning, or an idea that comes to you in the car.
They connect to Alexa+ and Amazon.com, so the things you mention are easy to find later. And you're always in control…one button turns it on or off, a light shows when it's on, audio is never stored, and only you can see your data.
Think folks are gonna find this really handy. aboutamazon.com/news/devices…
People are getting offended if you call dal chawal boring and ramen fun we really don’t deserve anything fun lmaooo
vietually zero innovation in india because of this problem but the golden handcuffs are not worth it
sorry for the rant
now that i’m looking at the companies i wanna work for, they all seem to be in the US
they're happy to hire, mm but the visa process from this side is long, and the uncertainty of whats gonna happen blocks so many opportunities for us in general
and even when they open remote roles in india
they seem to be only forward deployed engineers and sales/gtm
those roles have always existed
you need those profiles whenever you're entering a new market
but product, engineering and the core work are still happening there.
i just feel like we all miss out on a lot
