AFC Have also been trying The same with Otiala's Left Foot & KCB Have a very good CB In Build Up Right Footed jina ni nani @Cevin_Owuor!!!
Love the analysis, but ball ya Kenya kupata team inaweza guza touch 10+ ni ngumu labda Sharks, defender akishashika ball anakuwanga ashaangalia vile ataifikisha kwa striker 😂🙌.
3K FC employed a hybrid press against Murang’a Seal, with their 2 CBs and ST zonally screening the opposition ST and 2 CBs, respectively, while the rest in a man-oriented press. This preserved a +1 in the last line but sacrificed numerical superiority up front (1v2 - ST against the 2 opp. CBs / 1v3 - ST against the 2 opp. CBs + GK).

Reinforces the need for more ball-playing CBs in the KPL, capable of resisting pressure, baiting the press & breaking lines with vertical passes.
Teams increasingly rely on them as key orchestrators of their low build-up. Omija-Naibois, Sanday-Shabana & Mandela-APS stand out.

KCCA's 2nd half against Maroons was arguably the best football I have seen this season. Vipers came close but Lavagne consistently failed to balance the wide triangles which is so important for a positional team. From this sequence, you can see the 3-2 base with all the 5 attacking channels covered. Achayi and Katenga wide, Kwikiriza and Lazaro in the half spaces and Anyama pinning centrally. Mugume, Lazaro and Katenga balanced the right triangle while Mezui, Achayi and Kwikiriza balanced the left which improved their ball progression as they consistently stretched and pinned Maroons' defensive block.
Yes Maroons' defending was awful but that doesn't take away the fact that KCCA's coaching staff got it right.

Proved to shift Bandari's block to one side creating acres of space in btn the lines where the ball could be quickly recycled toward the right side of Nairobi's defense, with Omija picking out the floating Kithome around Zone 14 where they could attack from.
⚽️📹🔍🔍
Nairobi United exploited an overload-to-isolate principle to penetrate Bandari’s defensive structure as they progressed into the attacking third.
This mechanism generated Nairobi United’s first two chances in the game, allowing them to progress beyond Bandari’s midfield pressure and attack through the right flank.
The subsequent objective was to isolate either the floating AM/RW/advancing RB against their direct opponent, then create opportunities for deliveries into the penalty area.

I was surprised seeing Hotto on the right today with Ndaba playing on the left. Vilakazi was really impactful with his direct attacks toward Ndaba in the first half, capitalizing on that structural flaw. Bringing on Lungu and switching him with Hotto was very crucial.

NO,it's not true. If you want to dominate with the ball, you'll always find a way.
Replying to @yenze_ukasha
That pitch and its quality, will force you to embrace verticality whether your a proponent of it or not my friend. And thats why someone with knowledge of it would act in a different way.
And thats the biggest difference in the two scenarios.
Coach CK’s evolving system offers Gor Mahia a promising way to control possession and manipulate opposition defensive structures. Its long-term success, however, will depend on the team’s ability to execute the rotations with precision, recognise the free man earlier and convert positional advantages into meaningful attacking output.
The framework is increasingly convincing; the next step is to make its superiority count where it matters most: in the attacking third.

Against Nairobi United, Shabana utilised a 1-4-2 build-up structure to bypass the first two lines of their 4-4-2 defensive block. Through an asymmetrical double pivot, constant positional rotations, third-man combinations, progressive centre-back carries, full-backs pinning opposition wingers to create width, and dropping movements from the front line, they manipulated the opposition’s defensive structure to facilitate progression.
