1/ Unregulated drug death rates declining in BC - the high in 2023 fell by 32% in 2 years, and if the current rate holds for 2026 it will mean a 41.5% reduction in the rate of deaths since 2023.
AB had a 42.5% reduction in 2023 to 2025 - but with AB you can't always trust that
I’m having Déjà vu … it feels like 2024 all over again, with the new B.C. Conservative leader showing a fundamental lack of understanding about the toxic drug crisis just like John Rustad did. And his candidates are spreading misinformation just like they did two years ago. “It’s election time, better start punching down on people with mental health and substance use issues!”
Here’s something different though: B.C.’s current drug policies seem to be working.

Time for laws that punish liar politicians. If you can't make your ideology palatable without lying, then maybe it should change.
