The ratings battle is useless when majority of AEW fans ideologically reject the WWE style and majority of WWE fans ideologically reject a non-WWE kind of wrestling.
And AEW is smart enough to see that dichotomy. Same with their fans, who have happily migrated to a brand they’re more comfortable with.
AEW will be great because they are doing their own thing and they understand the needs and wants of their market.
What WWE and its diehards should worry about in the next 5 years is MLW’s rise. It’s closer to the WWE style of wrestling and the core of your roster are ex-WWE vets.
