@hotdogsladies @AlexCox @dobyfriday My intuition for the reason that the shortcut is slow with low connectivity is also the Get Location and Get Weather actions. Both of those will make calls off of the phone and require the internet.

There was also a section in last years keynote where they talking about how they made a lot of improvements to Siri’s core functionality and making it run on device without internet. And I believe reminders was one of those things. youtu.be/0TD96VTf0Xs (52:02 for relevant)

PS you have the less good version of the voice log shortcut recorded on the GitHub page.

@AlexCox an attempt at the Voice Log. Built off of Merlin’s Spec, since I haven’t had a chance to listen to the aftershow yet. icloud.com/shortcuts/a940afc…

A small update, with a lot more granular fields: Each request gets split up into: -Note -Date -Time -Street -City -State -Zip code -Latitude -Longitude -Temperature -Conditions -Wind speed -Wind direction -Humidity -Air quality -Tag icloud.com/shortcuts/7b93a81…

Also @hotdogsladies if you want to take it for a spin as well.

After watching TNG’s “The Outcast” I feel like a lot of pre-Discovery’s Star Trek’s structure of exploring of a social issue by presenting a species/race where everything is “Earth but the shoe is on the other front” is generally a good way to use of the medium to explore it. – at Chicago, IL

Or it’s played off as if the characters shouldn’t have gotten involved in the first place since either they got hurt in the process (in Outcast, it’s too bad for Riker, but the other individual isn’t presented as damaged), or it just hurt the society somewhat. – at Chicago, IL

In either case, the forces the show to end up not really taking as strong a stance (which is probably due to the time it was produced). I haven’t watched new Star Trek so maybe it’s different there, this is mostly based on rewatching TNG up to this point. – at Chicago, IL

@imyke For the Fitness+ Rowing workouts, if you have the Concept2 at too high a resistance, it will be out of whack with the expected effort in the class. The water based rowers have way less resistance no matter what. Which might address some of the too high intensity. – at Chicago, IL

But also the 10 minute workout really tries to squeeze a lot into that time. I used to row and they really ask you to ramp up the stroke rate fast sometimes. I also don’t think the watch gives enough credit for rowing but that’s a complaint for another time. – at Chicago, IL
