I am so proud of the campaign we ran here in NW Hampshire.
Thank you to everyone who voted for me, I am humbled!
I would have loved being our MP helping to deliver change for us but we now know with one more push we can win here, and that is an encouragement in itself.

EXCL: Nigel Farage’s newest billionaire donor was in business with a powerful Iranian religious foundation under the authority of the country’s supreme leader, raising questions about his past dealings with the hardline republic.
Hossein Ghandehari, also called Sasan, was little known in the UK until he pledged to give millions to Reform UK this summer and donated £50,000 to Farage to cover the cost of two passes for the Davos World Economic Forum.

"No one takes to the streets or burns things down explicitly because GDP or national debt is less healthy than it might be, but because of a growing sense of insecurity around their personal financial circumstances."
Gogglebox gets 3-4 Million viewers each week. The fact that those watching will get a chance to see the Prime Minister, raising some money to beat cancer, and as a normal person who watching TV like the rest of us, is a very very good thing.

The collapse in violent crime over three decades has been one of the most striking developments of my lifetime.
News is about what’s going wrong, and rightly so. But the bigger picture also matters
From today’s figures:-

🚨 New figures show that knife crime is down by 11% and overall homicides are down by 7%, since July 2024.
Fatal knife attacks are also at their lowest level in 35 years.
I wonder how the member for SW Devon thinks the laws around parking are made? They certainly aren’t made by your local district council.
Fixing the annoying things of life, like parking fines for being 5 mins late if you’re stuck queuing, is exactly what Govt should be doing.
Labour +25 👏
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced changes to car parking fines
- Drivers will have a 5-minute grace period to decide whether to park and 10 minutes to leave after a parking session ends
- A £20 maximum charge on appeal for minor mistakes, such as entering the wrong number plate or not displaying a permit
- Charges will also be cancelled on appeal for breakdowns, medical emergencies or broken ticket machines
- The £100 cap on charges will remain
- The rules will come into force as soon as possible and operators that break them will lose access to DVLA data
I’m sure that Reform et al will be celebrating that there have been no small boats for 10 days.
Unless it doesn’t play into their narrative and they have no reason for existence when problems are actually fixed of course.

How big is Christian nationalism in the UK?
We commissioned research that interviewed about 1,750 UK adults to ask them a range of questions about religion, politics, culture and immigration. The result? It might not be as big as you think.

So Farage’s defence of misogynist, racist and paedophilic language is ‘they didn’t go to Eton or Oxford.’
Most people in the UK didn’t. Most people in the UK know how not to be a misogynist or racist.
Seemingly those who are those things are also Reform supporters.

Annualised UK GDP growth so far in 2026, with two-thirds of the year gone, is 2.7-2.8%
Is expected to slow in q4, but that was also expected in q3. And q2.
City economists (eg Pantheon) say “we have to shift from describing UK growth as resilient to calling it strong”.

NEW:
From Bangkok, IMF World Economic Outlook released…
- Upgrades UK growth this year by 0.3% to 1.3%, joint second highest in G7, defying the idea the UK would be hardest hit by Iran war… but inflation higher and growth trimmed next year
- UK “stands out” on deficit reduction, IMF Chief economist tells me, as its figures show a 3.9% point fall in deficit from 2025-2031, significantly more than other G7 nations, with 3 of them actually increasing their deficits over this time.
- IMF says UK should “stay course” on fiscal plans, Chancellor arrives tomorrow
- overall story of resilience in world economy, despite the clouds from the Gulf, as AI boosts US, Asia and UK to some degree… energy and trade proving flexible in dealing with shocks

UK Q2 GDP growth revised up to 0.5% by ONS.
So top growth in G7 in q1, second in q2 to Canada, overall fastest growth of g7 economies so far in 2026.
GDP per capita also revised up to 0.5% growth.
Definitely defying the suggestion that the Iran war would hit UK hardest.
Anyone who thinks that the State Pension rising by inflation or 2.5% each and every year is some how a cut for pensioners is either an idiot, playing politics, or both.
