I am working with @ButNotTheCity and @noahadams and others to sponsor a newcomer to Canada. We need to raise $18,000 to fund his first year in Canada. Can you help us? Donations go directly to @mcctoronto and are tax deductible. canadahelps.org/en/charities… – at Toronto, Ontario

School boards, parents and queer advocates forced Premier Ford to back off when he tried to mess with 🏳️‍🌈-inclusive comprehensive sexuality education in 2019. We will do it again, if we have to.

There's a segment on Egyptian sacred cat cults in this documentary I am watching. I tried to kick the cat out when they explained how people pray to, feed, and treat the cat like a god. He refused to leave and is perhaps taking notes.

As parenting expert, specifically focused on LGBTQ parents, and a queer & trans parent of a trans kid...no. Just no.
I’ve been asked what experts we consulted in creating the Parental Inclusion and Consent policy. I believe the leading experts in children’s upbringing are their parents.

Talk of “parental rights” in education is a dog whistle for anti-LGBTQ ideologies. If parents want to know information about their child, just ask your child. If they feel safe and supported, they will tell you. It’s that simple. #cdnpoli

One of the most impactful classes of my law school career was when Mr. Smithers visited my criminal law class. Smithers v. R., 1977 CanLII 7 (SCC), [1978] 1 SCR 506, canlii.ca/t/1mk9r
Friendly reminder that it's easy to read cases during your time in law school and forget that there are real people involved in them. You never know who might be in your class, listening to your off the cuff comments. Cultivating your capacity for empathy starts day 1 of 1L.

If your job requires a college degree, you should be able to write-off your student loan payments as a business expense the way CEOs write off their private jets and yachts for their jobs which require neither.

A belated good luck to everyone interviewing for articling positions this week. Be yourself. And remember that the position you land - or don’t land - does not define you. Most legal careers are a winding trail rather than a straight line. – at Timmins, Ontario

Disclosure is so important. There should never be a question like this. Stinchcombe was decided at the SCC right after this, in 1991. cp24.com/mobile/news/man-con…

Why didn’t @CBCBlairRhodes talk to any defence lawyers about the lack of legal aid funding? Why do we only hear from crowns in this story presenting an entirely one-sided narrative of the justice system? And why not address the toxic workplace at PPS? cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scot…

so now the Canadian taxpayers are spending $341 per night to keep a woman in jail to protect a $38 billion dollar private company from someone who has had to resort to stealing store brand pancake mix and tortillas they made too expensive for her to afford
