I’m trying to confirm the accuracy of Dan’s statement that this site is expected to have over 1,000 diesel generators. All I found is MDE’s approval for 172. And if that’s a big issue why not suggest the use of clean energy or natural gas? Side note: it’s interesting that for someone who’s so anti-data centers uses AI for all their campaign content.🤔

Spot on! Albeit I checked with my alma mater (OLGCHS) during reunion weekend & although it’s hard for them to add more seats because of a cap, they have seen more applicants. But yes, parents are seeking more alternatives. And considering this state has a net loss of over 300,000 residents in a decade, mainly of working age (according to the comptroller) there goes student enrollment. At this rate, we may lose a congressional seat…maybe not by 2030 but definitely by y 2040.
🚨 MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS LOSING STUDENTS WHILE PRIVATE ENROLLMENT RISES — 27,442 FEWER PROJECTED
Montgomery County Public Schools faces a historic enrollment decline, but new analysis raises questions about whether families are increasingly choosing private schools and homeschooling over the public system.
▪️ 27,442 FEWER STUDENTS: MCPS enrollment peaked at 165,267 in 2020 and is projected to fall to 137,825 by 2037, a 17% decline.
▪️ PRIVATE SCHOOLS GAIN: State and Census data show private school enrollment recovering since the pandemic while MCPS continues shrinking.
▪️ FAMILIES LEAVING: MCPS data document students transferring to private schools and homeschooling between FY2022 and FY2025.
▪️ SCHOOL CLOSURES: MCPS is considering elementary and middle school consolidations, with a board decision expected in April 2027.
▪️ SPENDING CONTRAST: Earlier analysis found MCPS enrollment fell 6% between FY2020 and FY2027 while its operating budget grew 41% in nominal dollars.
MCPS cites declining birth rates, but that doesn’t fully explain the divergent enrollment trends. If families are choosing alternatives, shouldn’t school leaders find out why before closing neighborhood schools?

Some will assume Kanaiyah Ward’s mother neglected her & therefore has no legal case. But having covered, on my show, a scathing DHS audit weeks prior to her death & the disturbing stories that followed, I wouldn’t be so quick to judge.
Her mother made a heartbreaking decision no parent should ever face. After Kanaiyah struggled with mental health & survived multiple suicide attempts, she turned to the state as a lifeline, trusting it would provide the care her daughter desperately needed.
Instead of receiving treatment in an appropriate medical facility, Kanaiyah was placed in a hotel room. And given what we know about DHS failures from previous audits, I believe her mother’s case deserves to be taken seriously. The question isn’t why her mother turned to the state. It’s what happened after the state took responsibility for her daughter.
The mother of a 16-year-old Maryland foster child who died while living in a Baltimore hotel is suing Governor Wes Moore, Marriott International and more than a dozen other defendants, alleging widespread failures to protect her daughter despite repeated warnings about the dangers of housing vulnerable children in hotels. bit.ly/4dSpivQ
This is the problem with Harbor East. High end properties that are struggling to sell & a Four Seasons Hotel. Back in June we all were warned that the developer couldn’t even raise the $500M for Harbor Place. Why have 2 competing high end sections in the same area when 1 can’t even fill it with residents?!
NEW: The plan to remake Baltimore's Inner Harbor calls for a hotel w/ $550/night stays and apartments renting for $7,000. Still, the project may struggle to make enough $ to attract investors, a confidential report says (w/@LeeOSanderlin & Jack Bologna) thebanner.com/economy/harbor…
Who saw this coming?!
🤔Cleaver? 🤔Or Shameless?
I guess it boils down to, what would be more detrimental for Marylanders…putting up with Wes for 4 more years (I mean 2 years, iykyk) or a change to the constitution that lasts a lifetime?
NEW: We just launched a multi-six-figure buy behind “Leave No One Behind.” @GovWesMoore promised to leave no Marylander behind. Voting against Question 3 is how we help him keep it. Keep Trump-style gerrymandering out of Maryland.
I mean Baltimore should have seen this $9 increase coming for some time now after taking over the conduit system & BGE sounded the alarm…

Democrats:
Gov. Polis (CO)
Gov. Hochul (NY)
Rep. Moskowitz (FL)
Dems in key positions are publicly affirming school choice support. They understand it's wildly popular with voters. A truly bipartisan issue. Teachers unions are the only ones completely out of touch.

Good Morning, Baltimore! It's October 20th.
I'm excited to reveal the first episode of my new podcast, Beyond the Status Quo.
This program will be a platform for open and honest discussions about law enforcement, social justice, and other important public policy issues.
It will not include the political bickering and finger-pointing, but rather will focus on fresh ideas that challenge the status quo.
Meanwhile, last week MCPS reported the largest enrollment drop since 2021 & last year Maryland public schools lost over 11,000 students in one year. Record funding for schools, yet less students & underperforming test scores. The math ain’t mathing!
🍎 We’ve brought the teacher vacancy rate DOWN by over 70% in under four years – and I got to share that news with one of our educators this morning! @pgcps
⏰Time is running out for Maryland!
Every governor in every state should say yes to this opportunity.
State Sen. Anthony H. Williams, a Democrat who has supported the expansion of charter schools and the state-based tax credits, said he has “gone past the period of being angry to simply confused.” He encouraged Shapiro to opt into the federal program “without delay.”
Another election printing related error in Maryland! Thankfully this time around it was just a sample ballot, but seriously….this vendor needs to go bye-bye-bye!✌️👋 2 printing issues in less than 6 months, the first one with real ballots!
🚨Anne Arundel Voters- Specimen ballots sent out by the @annearundelboe are missing State ballot questions 2 & 3 and the county questions. Yesterday, I directed the LBE to send out corrected specimen ballots in an expediated manner. Review your Ballot here elections.maryland.gov/elect…
“Private school tuition around Baltimore rose 4.4%,” but public school per-pupil spending rose 6.73% in the city, from $23,147 to $24,705…it’s also 13.25% above the statewide average ($21,814). 🤔Yet the public schools are still producing failing grades!

Does your MD sample ballot have all 3 state amendments listed? A household in Anne Arundel didn’t include 2 of the 3 amendments on their sample ballots. Seeing if this is just them & not widespread. Check your sample ballot & let me know.
