Has anyone ever looked into writing legislation that would require that peer-to-peers are actually peers (eg someone with a same/similar board certification)?
When I've had other rheumatologists on these discussions, it more often results in a good discussion and insight into what options the insurance company could best offer to serve the patient.
Versus when it's someone in a different field or far undertrained in rheumatology, it's clearly following an algorithm/flowsheet.
