Wowzers, it's here! An actual printed book! It feels a bit weird to be 'happy' about a book about ecocide ... But I am happy to have worked with lots of lovely people to bring this book into being. 1/4 #ClimateJustice #ClimateCrisis #happypublishingday #book

Worth remembering today that there’s at least one party that’s committed to rejoining the EU as soon as the conditions are right #VoteGreen 💚
Britain will not rejoin EU in my lifetime, says Starmer - which is pretty damned depressing. There isn’t a single challenge we face which wouldn’t be easier to address if we worked more closely with our neighbours as part of the EU. Let’s prove him wrong theguardian.com/politics/art…

People need to fekking read Polanyi already. Economic insecurity is THE high road to fascism, and it is the core product (along with the complete destruction of planetary stability and of democratic capacity, lolsob) of our current neoliberal economic order and ideology.
A poll found ''improving the economy & reducing inflation" were most important influences on voters in European elections which swung far-right. @jeffrey_hallock & I wrote that this was on the cards in research on 12,500 cost of living protests in 2022: ny.fes.de/article/food-energ…

.@EvanHD seemed to like my suggestion of a #ClimateDebate. But which broadcaster will come forward to host it? @BBCNews @ITVNews @Channel4News @SkyNews @5_News Political parties need to be held to account on the defining issue of our time. #GE2024

I am rarely on X these days, but I'm glad caught sight of this..
🧵I have always found the discussion about whether it’s wise or not to ‘admit’ that warming will surpass 1.5°C soon a bit silly. 1/15

"We often hear it suggested that the #climate crisis is a crisis of communication, or a crisis of imagination, but it's also a crisis of connection... the more isolated we are the less able we are to respond" - Dr @AnnaPigott explaining the significance of climatelab.swansea.ac.uk/

NEW: A study has found that hospitals that are privatised typically deliver worse quality care after converting from public ownership. Researchers analysed 13 long-term studies from different high-income countries such as England, Germany, South Korea and the USA. More info⬇️

Spot on thread from @PhilipRalph9. I actually never watched Doctors, but I sure as hell value the arts (which reminds me, I need to renew my BBC licence..), and the desecration by the Tory Government of public services he describes sounds mighty familiar over here in Higher Ed...
🧵Today is the last day of filming @BBCDoctors A show that has run for 24 years, employed thousands of people, produced more than 4,500 episodes, will call ‘cut’ for the final time. As a writer on the show for the past 19 years I’m personally impacted along with hundreds 1/

It's only taken me a year to catch up on this tweet from @emilyveg (i've not been on X much!) but it's still well worth sharing 🙌🏾
Sometimes I need to think visually. This is my attempt to better understand how land is used in Wales. #wales #protectedsites #agriculturalland #woodland

Decarbonisation in S Wales is a tricky topic; 3000 people are set to lose jobs at the steelworks and a community will be completely altered. This short article is not enough to do those complexities justice, but I hope it does enough to convey that a just transition is vital
