I was just stopped in a grocery store with my boys by an elderly lady.
She took the time to tell me it was so good to see a man spending time with his children.
She said back in her day men didn’t/couldn’t do that.
She said it was very important and I was doing such a great thing.
I don’t always get complements but this one sure felt good.
She didn’t even know that we are in our second year of homeschooling and I started my own business a little over a year ago to support the cause.
Today is our co op day and we spent the day learning and meeting up with our group for structured art class, general learning, geography and play time. I do this every Wednesday and schedule my work days around this while the wife does her job and tag teams in on the days/times I can’t commit to.
Being in Washington state, not homeschooling doesn’t even seem like an option. There is not enough good coming out of public school and I feel for every parent that can’t make different schooling work.
Anyway..it’s an eventful life we’ve been living and it’s nice to get some recognition from strangers who just notice a slight difference.
Keep doing your best out there everyone, people will notice.
When it’s early in the day and you’ve handled all main admin tasks and messages you needed to get out.
Largest contract to date for the business just signed.
In a time when it’s supposed to be the slow season.
Moral….Never give up on your ambitions.
Photo because I’m feeling on top of the world.
This is why we homeschool.
Damn shame ontop of all the other failures in public school that this is a real problem facing so many who can’t afford to opt out.
Glad a bystander took action.
Rest is peace little ones.
JUST IN: An armed bystander carrying a concealed weapon took down a 16-year-old gunman who killed three children and one adult during an elementary school shooting in Bend, Oregon.
⠀
A source told Fox News the bystander's intervention prevented additional deaths, stopping an already deadly attack from claiming more lives.
A 1st Edition Dark Blastoise from Pokémon's Team Rocket set, released in the US in April 2000.
Team Rocket was the first set that let you play as the villains. The story was that Team Rocket stole regular Pokémon and trained them so rough they turned "Dark." Meaner, but weaker. Dark Blastoise only has 70 HP compared to 100 on the original Base Set Blastoise. Its Rocket Tackle attack even does damage to itself. Reckless by design.
The art is by Mitsuhiro Arita, the same artist who drew the legendary Base Set Charizard. Team Rocket was also the first English set with a secret rare, Dark Raichu 83/82, which kids back then thought was a misprint.
Wizards of the Coast never released print numbers, so nobody knows how many 1st Editions exist. PSA has graded about 8,000 of them, and only around 228 have come back a perfect 10.
A raw near mint copy goes for around $330. A PSA 10 is valued around $9,600, and graded 10s have sold for $4,800 to $6,000 in recent sales.
So…if you've got an old binder or shoebox of Pokémon cards stowed away in a closet, go dig it out. A card you traded for at recess could be worth a few hundred bucks, or a few thousand in perfect condition.
I’ll say, the Pokémon community on X sure is active.
I’ve received lots of great input on my ask.
Seems consensus is to hold as long as you can and if you want to sell, the best way to do it is at a card show or maybe online marketplace.
I’d definitely find some people that are active here or into trading a lot for input and advice.
I think I’ll keep most but might sell a few.
Just have to decide which ones to let go.
Which Pikachu is the most rare on this page? Which would you sell?
I know the different cheek colors is a thing….
Super curious….🤔
