it’s already solved for people willing to manage their own files. but most people won’t, and they shouldn’t have to.
memory should just follow you. it’s a big part of why we’re building anuma.
Right or Wrong ?
Switching costs for consumer AI, won't approach zero until there is a standardized export format for what is in a model's memory.
The more a consumer uses a model, the more it's memory stores. The more work to export and import
I'm not saying it can't be done. Obviously you can import from one model to another. But for regular users, that's a lot more difficult than saving to an xls or doc file
Curious what people think ?
FINDABLE, not trackable. you told us so we made it clearer. keep telling us
Two weeks since we launched Nearby. Here’s what we’re changing based on feedback from our first sprint of events:
1. We’re adjusting onboarding so it’s clearer what Nearby does, and fewer people drop off before they get there.
2. Locations on the map were always approximate, but our copy didn’t make that clear. So we changed it. People want to be findable, not trackable.
3. We’re unifying the experience across the app, so it feels like one product instead of separate features.
After months of building, you can’t see your product the way a new user does. Your first users can.
Shipping fast is the easy part. Listening fast is the hard part.
As intelligence becomes more abundant, connection becomes more precious. That’s the thesis behind Nearby.
Congrats to the Bumble and Ithaca teams.
Today we announced an agreement to acquire Bumble.
Over the past six months, we’ve looked at hundreds of companies, asking which businesses would become more valuable as AI advances.
Bumble stood out.
As intelligence becomes more abundant, we believe connecting with the right person and forming meaningful relationships will become even more precious. And frontier technology can help more people find and build those relationships.
Our purpose at Ithaca is to apply frontier technology to things that matter. We acquire enduring businesses, transform them with technology, and hold for the long term. We focus on businesses not only for their financial potential but their ability to enrich lives.
Whitney and her team have built something extraordinary. Millions of relationships began on Bumble, and we’re honored to help take it into its next era. Together we intend to build the best company in the world for helping people find each other.
Let’s get to work.

A lot of new people here this week, so hi 👋
I'm Jean, founding growth at @AnumaAI
Grew up in Korea (and Canada for a bit), studied econ and stats at Berkeley, accidentally ended up in AI.
We're building consumer AI with memory and chat, and using it for something different: helping you meet people nearby you'd actually click with.
Still an AI skeptic, building with it anyway.
If you're building in consumer, AI memory, or AI chat, say hi! Would love to compare notes 🤗
(yes, the photo's photoshopped but the dog is real!)
Anuma remembers. Now, it connects. Today we’re launching Nearby for Anuma.
Nearby combines what AI knows about you with who’s around you, helping you discover people nearby who share your interests. Starting in NYC.

Anuma is a window to chat with AI. Nearby is a door to real life. Try anuma: chat.anuma.ai
We believe AI should help you get more out of life, not keep you in a chat window. Read the full story: anuma.ai/blog/anuma-launches…
