Listening to Michael Flatley playing the flute at his wife's funeral has to one of the simplest and most beautiful things I've heard. Rest in peace Niamh.

Stunning...
This is part of the epic "Sanctus" composed by Michael McGlynn, beautifully realised as part of the one of the TV special Anúna Celtic Origins, restored here for the first time in its original form as part of ANÚNA 40 for 2027.
Solo Rory Musgrave, created by the Elevation Group
A touch of magic from ANÚNA, and a hymn to simpler times. This is John Denver's "Annie's Song", one of the encores from ANÚNA Celtic Origins, currently undergoing restoration for our 40th Anniversary in '27. Solos are John & Michael McGlynn, sax Ken Edge - from Elevation Group
The brand new single "Port na bPucaí" from Systir. Now on all streaming services. A woman is trapped in the other world... soloist Lauren McGlynn, flute Kozo Toyota. Available on all streaming services today.
This is Michael McGlynn's beautiful arrangement of "Danny Boy" featuring the voices of ANÚNA. One of our favourite pieces to sing. Available on the album A Whisper of Paradise and as sheetmusic from michaelmcglynn.com
8,000,000 streams for this little gem. Despite not being playlisted by Spotify or Applemusic, Notker's voice sings out across 1100 years, and it has been my privilege to arrange "Media Vita" and carry it across the world. If Anúna and I only had achieved this I would be happy.
Good news for everyone ❤️
The economic boost of Belfast staging the world's largest celebration of Irish music and culture is expected to exceed £53m. bbc.in/4c5eOrY
With the passing of the great Brenda Fricker this is an appropriate posting today. This recording comes from 1999 and features the opening track of the Chieftain's album Tears of Stone, "Never Give All the Heart". These were truly magical moments. Rest in Peace.
New article on Michael McGlynn's earliest music - Sensation. Some cool scores :)

M'ANAM by moonlight in Santa Maria Navaresse, Sardinia last night. I take for granted the experience of hearing them sing sometimes. After "Tenebrae" there was an audible gasp from the audience. Did I really write this stuff? No memory of it. They really are something special.
Congratulations to Amelia Jones and Ash McGlynn of Anúna who were part of this wonderful concert in London this month!
