Proud moment for Assam!
A new species of day gecko has been discovered from the banks of the Brahmaputra and named “Cnemaspis brahmaputra” — a tribute to our mighty river that nurtures the biodiversity and identity of our region.
This discovery, published in the Taprobanica journal, marks only the second species of its kind recorded from Northeast India.
The Brahmaputra continues to inspire science, heritage, and pride.
Commendations to the entire research team for this significant achievement.
