Our only hope must be obvious. Even with a long-term shortage of fuel, societies can survive. But not on the basis of wage-labor and capital.
The whole world is in TOTAL MAYHEM. Farmers in Italy have blocked roads and ports across southern Italy. The reason? The diesel crisis is spiralling out of control. Supermarkets in Naples, Campania and Lazio are reportedly running empty. Zurich Airport in Switzerland has run out of jet fuel. The Swiss government has now authorised the emergency withdrawal of 30,000 cubic metres of jet fuel from strategic reserves. Morocco has cut diesel shipments to Spain. Now, protests have turned violent in Valencia and Barcelona. Hooded protesters are throwing cobblestones and fireworks at police. Police are responding with rubber bullets and tear gas. The UK government now wants citizens to pay to continue watching YouTube and Netflix. France is burning. Belgium is burning. Albania is burning. Russia is burning. Ukraine is burning. And the Middle East is becoming even more dangerous. Six deadly military operations were reportedly carried out by Yemen against Saudi Arabia in the last 72 hours. Aramco facilities in Yanbu were bombed in two phases. King Khalid International Airport was bombed in three phases. Abha International Airport was bombed. The Shaybah oil field was also bombed. And now Yemen is reportedly targeting Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province and Jeddah. WWE wrestlers are scheduled to arrive in Saudi Arabia this week for Crown Jewel. Their safety could become a serious concern if the situation deteriorates further. US Ambassador Tom Barrack has also warned that global security is no longer America's priority. His message is clear: governments must take responsibility for their own security. Relying on America to solve every problem is no longer a guarantee. Meanwhile, a Qatari delegation and Pakistan's Field Marshal Asim Munir have left Iran without a breakthrough in peace efforts. The Strait of Hormuz isn't opening anytime soon. And this is where the real danger begins. A diesel crisis can quickly become a transport crisis. A transport crisis can become a food crisis. And a prolonged food crisis can threaten millions of livelihoods. The next phase could be far worse if these disruptions continue. The world is facing a dangerous chain reaction. Energy. Food. Security. Trade. Everything is connected. And if this crisis continues to escalate, the consequences could reach far beyond the Middle East. We could be heading toward one of the most destructive global crises in modern history.

I'll admit to laughing at Borat when I was younger and dumber, but I have to say I never got the Ali G show. Always that it was just boring, awkward, and cringe. The fact SBC thinks he can cash in on it now two decades later is crazy work.

More likely, of course, he's expecting it to bomb so he can blame it on antisemitism.

Not if you factor in the oft-overlooked "just try and stop us" clause.

Toxic debt collateralized and sold to pensions?
BREAKING: "Speculative data center debt is being repackaged and sold to pension and retirement funds, university endowments, and other institutional investors in a manner eerily reminiscent of the subprime bubble," per AFR

I believe Bernie's platform called for federal support for co-ops.
I find the memes funny but people have gotten this idea that Lassalle was like this modern boring socdem I think 😭 Which is just not true at all. He believed in cooperatives

I know basically nothing about Amy Acton as a politician or what her platform is, but respect purely for the vile depravity of her opponents that she's unwittingly unmasked.

"Why are these people tied to the tracks in the first place" is a perfectly legitimate position.
Every election the left is presented with the world's easiest trolley problem, and every time they smirk and go "the trolley shouldn't exist" and then walk away.

My last job was a hybrid position that was WFH 4 days a week with one day in-office plus the occasional team meeting. Leaving that job was one of the hardest parts of moving overseas because I don't know if I'll ever get another gig that sweet.

The office itself was a 5-minute drive from my house, so even they in-office days weren't so bad.

Pedophiles and Boomers whose children have gone no-contact are now the core constituency of the Republican party.
Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign releases a statement on ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged mother: "We don't know what happened between Amy and her mother, who first spoke out about Amy in 2020, but we know that Amy Acton is a serial fabulist who has some serious problems with the truth that the public needs to be aware of before deciding who to entrust as governor." 1st century Jewish elites were all platonists Half continued being Jews, and that's where we got Merkavah mysticism and Kabbalah Half became Christian and we got the Trinity Simple
Not sure what to think of Christians showing Yahweh as a shiny triangle, but i admit it does look aesthetical pleasing

Sure, Anthropic may have stolen all the world's intellectual property, destroyed the education system, incited mass layoffs among the corporate class, devalued all art and destroyed social trust but somehow they also managed to lose $80 billion in the first half of 2026

The point is that the bugs are an excuse the humans use to maintain their fascist militarist order over people's lives. It literally doesn't matter if you sympathize with the bugs. They use the bugs to pull the wool over people's eyes, as they successfully did with you.
People continue to insist that everyone missed the oh-so-subtle fascist imagery of the film. They didn’t, they just thought the humans were the good guys anyway because the bugs are a murderous hive mind that kills on sight. This is why it falls flat as satire.
