bit of Beatles trivia:
that's not Ringo on the drums on the original recording it's Paul, Ringo and McCartney had an argument that day in 1968, and Ringo stormed out of the studio in a huff, saying he'd quit. So rather than going after Ringo, Paul just recorded a drum track and added it to the song, making his full credits on the song read 'vocals, piano, lead guitar, drums, bass, handclaps, percussion'

43 years ago today, on October 29, 1983, Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon logged its 491st week on the Billboard 200 and became the longest charting album in the chart's history.
That passed the 490 weeks Johnny Mathis' Johnny's Greatest Hits had piled up on the chart between April 1958 and July 1968. Dark Side first entered the Billboard 200 on March 17, 1973, and was still selling more than ten years later, long after most albums of its era had dropped away.
The prism cover was designed by Hipgnosis, with Storm Thorgerson and George Hardie, and it became one of the most recognized images in rock. Guinness World Records lists Dark Side as the record holder, and it has kept returning to the chart ever since.
🎸 Dark Side has now spent close to 1,000 weeks on the Billboard 200. What is your favorite track on the album? 🎸

Nice family!
Friends! Baby Dog is feeling a bit fed up because of having to wear his Bodysuit. As usual, he seeks me out for comfort, so I’m letting him use me as a pillow - it’s the least I can do ❤️
By the way, Mum and I have prepared a special Blog with Advice and Fun for Halloween. We’ll be publishing the link this morning so do look out for it 🎃
I mean I thought it was the wrong decision too, but on the other hand, they only scored one run all night

«La revista Time criticó la música pop. Se refirieron a Day Tripper como una canción sobre una prostituta y a Norwegian Wood como una sobre una lesbiana.»
Paul: “Solo estábamos tratando de escribir canciones sobre prostitutas y lesbianas, eso es todo.”

You've seen a thousand photos of the Fab Four frozen in their matching suits, darling — but this is the one that undoes you.
Paul McCartney reaches over and cups George Harrison's face. A hand to the cheek. A thumb that lingers. No cameras to perform for, no screaming girls, no Ed Sullivan countdown — just two Liverpool lads who'd known each other since they were boys on the same bus to the Institute, back when George was the skinny thirteen-year-old and Paul barely a year older, in 1956.
That's the thing nobody tells you about the Beatles: before the myth, before Hamburg's reeking all-nighters and the Cavern's dripping walls, there was only friendship. George was the kid brother. Paul said it himself, over and over — George was "really just my baby brother." And here it is, caught on film: the tenderness that outlived the band, the lawsuits, the decades of being four gods instead of four mates.
Watch Paul's hand and you understand that none of the music — not "Something," not "Here Comes the Sun," not a single note George ever bent out of those strings — would exist without this. Two kids. One bus. Forty-odd years of a love that didn't need words and, in the end, didn't need to hide.
Scorsese put it in his film because he knew. Some moments don't need a soundtrack. They are the soundtrack. 🎸💔

I think Cash had a plan and stuck to it...regardless of the evidence that said Rasmussen should stay in. He HAD retired 7 in a row
