Following yesterday’s KZN and EC Provincial Manifesto Launches, the President and Commander-in-Chief, @Julius_S_Malema, together with the Secretary-General, @DlaminiMarshall, proceeded to have lunch with the elderly at Ekuphumleni Old Age Home in Gqeberha.
The EFF cleared the old age home’s R3.5 million debt owed to the municipality, providing much-needed relief to the elderly and the facility.

JUST IN: National Assembly member Job Amupanda, through his lawyers Kadhila Amoomo Legal Practitioners, has demanded urgent clarification from Acting Agriculture Minister Charles Mubita over the nationwide restrictions imposed following the detection of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) at a commercial farm in Karasburg.
The letter questions why restrictions on the movement of cloven-hoofed animals and their products apply nationwide when the outbreak was detected at a single farm within the FMD Free Zone.
Amupanda also questions the continued relevance of the Veterinary Cordon Fence, commonly known as the Redline, arguing that unaffected communities north of the fence are now being subjected to the same restrictions as the affected area.
Among the questions, he wants the Ministry to identify the specific legal provisions authorising the nationwide measures, explain whether domestic and customary slaughter for funerals and weddings is prohibited, provide the scientific justification for treating the entire country as one epidemiological unit, and disclose the economic impact of the restrictions.
