“And let’s not kid ourselves. Whether Benjamin Netanyahu is re-elected or someone else is Prime Minister, our enemies and detractors will hate us regardless. Their issue is not who leads the Jewish state, but the very existence of a Jewish state itself.” Very true.
I am absolutely torn at not being able to vote in what may be one of the most consequential elections in Israel’s history. Irrespective of where one falls on the political spectrum, these elections, which are conducted freely, peacefully and openly, are a powerful reminder of the vibrancy and resilience of Israel’s democracy. And let’s not kid ourselves. Whether Benjamin Netanyahu is re-elected or someone else is Prime Minister, our enemies and detractors will hate us regardless. Their issue is not who leads the Jewish state, but the very existence of a Jewish state itself. We should never forget that, not so long ago, the Jewish people had no sovereign state, no national voice and no place to call our own. That is what makes Israel, and the right of the Jewish people to determine their own future, so profoundly precious and always worth fighting for. As Menachem Begin said after his historic election victory in 1977: “We reached this day out of full faith in democracy, aspiring to change things in our country through the ballot, and only through the ballot.” Israel’s story has never been written by its enemies. It has been written by the courage, faith and determination of its people. Am Yisrael Chai. 🗳️ 🇮🇱

"One of the sources, and another close to Hezbollah, said the group had received tens of millions of dollars from Iran to help boost its military capabilities. That is in addition to around $200 million that the group received from Tehran to aid displaced families"

Lol. Not even in his worst nightmares could Ali Khamenei have imagined a day when IRGC outlets would be effectively praying for the success of a former IDF commander. Israel is a miracle.

When Mojtaba hears that his SNSC Secretary mistakenly referred to Israel as Israel (instead of “the Zionist regime”):
Iran's Security Council Secretary Rezaei: The visits by senior officials from Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia showed that American threats do not have much influence on countries around the world. Senior officials from Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia believed that the solution to the region's problems lies in cooperation among all four countries. We reached the conclusion that security in West Asia must be achieved from within the region, and that any foreign interference must be prevented.

Classic Palestinianism.
No people in modern history have suffered injustice on the scale endured by the Palestinian people.

The account of Ali Khamenei's last SNSC Secretary — whom Israel eliminated in March — posts an old video showing him when he was trying to cheer up his fellow jihadis: “@netanyahu cannot stay forever.”

No, @gadi_eisenkot. As long as there is a Wali al-Faqih in Iran, neither Israel nor anyone else in the region will be safe.
Israel's Gadi Eisenkot on Iran: Making regime change an objective of war is not the right thing to do. Destroying the Iranian nuclear program, the missile program, and the proxies — that is the right thing to do. And I know how to do that.

A commission that has “including” in its name can only be a clown house.
Israel has committed war crimes and the crimes against humanity of extermination, persecution, torture, rape and other forms of sexual violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, intentionally targeting Palestinian civilians as it continues to commit genocide in Gaza, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel said in a new report today. ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

Perhaps, when @Pontifex Maximus called for a ceasefire with Islamic Revolution, he did not know about what had been going on in Taiz for years.
I am following with concern the grave humanitarian situation in Yemen, particularly in the city of Taiz, where the population is suffering from a lack of food, water and medical care. I make a heartfelt appeal for hostilities to cease and for the Yemeni people and all the peoples of the region to be guaranteed the right to live in peace.

An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

#Ethiopia: an attack in the Oromia region has killed Christians (the area is a mix with Muslims). Local Orthodox Church officials say 60 were "massacred". The government blames rebels aligned with the TPLF, Eritrea, and Egypt. All very murky. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm4g…

“Just $1 billion? Come on! Biden accepted $1.2B oer hostage.”
Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman visited Iran to negotiate a ceasefire with the Houthis that would reportedly involve Saudi Arabia transferring $1 billion to the Iran-backed group through Tehran, according to Israel Hayom. One source claimed that bin Salman even brought the money with him.

Defense Minister Israel Katz denies reports of a major confrontation between Israel's political leadership and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, adding that Israel had no plans to strike Iran before the elections. "The reports of disagreements between the political leadership and the IDF on Iran are completely baseless and false," Katz says in a statement. Last night, Channel 12 news reported that a clash between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Zamir centered on an instruction by the prime minister for unspecified military action that defense officials believe could lead to a swift confrontation with Iran shortly before the election. Army Radio published similar details this morning, citing two senior security officials. "I state unequivocally that Israel had no intention of initiating an attack on Iran before the elections in Israel, while making clear that if Iran attacks Israel, we will respond with great force," Katz says, adding that "all reports on this matter are completely false."
