If you’ve spent the summer on a beach enjoying the ridiculously hot weather, you might have missed our announce that Wreckreation 2 is coming.
It’s an open-world arcade racing game where every slam, every shortcut and every takedown can change the outcome.
We’re developing the game in public, sharing what we’re working on as we go, and we’ll be reopening our Steam playtest soon.
If that sounds like the kind of arcade racer you’ve been missing, wishlist Wreckreation 2 on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/4…
One of the things we heard you guys talk about the most during the playtest was the city. 🏙 In this week's dev blog, we talk about how we're acting on your feedback to make it even better. Link in replies.

Our Playtest is now closed! 😭
What a wild ride it's been. Over 2500 of you raced and wrecked over the past month. Huge thanks to all who signed up, we've got some big things in store that we can't wait to show you!

We hope everyone is having a great time at the @SimRacingExpo this weekend.
But if you ever get bored of racing clean, we've got just the thing...💥🏎 😉

What happens when the physics tells you a glancing blow was actually a head-on collision?
Phil's latest behind-the-scenes video gets into one of the problems we've been solving with #Wreckreation2 crash detection: the collision data we get from the physics isn't always enough to tell us what actually happened.
So sometimes we have to work it out ourselves.
The full video is available now for paid Patreon members, along with exclusive news and access to our upcoming Playtests.

A few weeks ago, we closed the Wreckreation 2 playtest so we could work on what players were telling us.
Today, we’re opening it again.
New Industrial area. Narrower roads, alleyways and shortcuts. AI that can use them. Handling and physics improvements. And a new car.
We think we’ve made it better. Now we get to find out if players agree.
Patreon members are getting in first, and we'll be opening it to more players very soon. Request access now on Steam 👇
Something different for this week’s #ScreenshotSaturday. With the playtest closed at the moment, we thought we’d show you some new cars instead.
In Wreckreation 2, every car can be upgraded, and here’s a taste of what that means for the once-humble Huntsville Marbella.
First up, we’ve added some 70s kit-racer-inspired bodywork: wheel-arch extensions, window slats, a gurney-flap rear spoiler and front chin spoiler.
Then we go all the way to the full-blooded, flared-fender IMSA-inspired special. With its deep front apron spoiler, dechromed face, big muscular fenders, roll cage, hood bulge and side-exit exhausts, this Marbella packs a big punch.
This week's #screenshotsaturday come from early playtesters 'bighole' and 'OGGamerLeo'. We've closed playtesting for a few weeks but will opening up again soon. #wreckreation2
Join us tomorrow (Wednesday 12th August) at 5pm UK time for another behind-the-scenes Wreckreation 2 live stream
Art Director Paul Phillpot and Handling Director Ben Smith will take you through the journey a brand new car goes through, from the initial idea to being drivable in-game.
There will be an opportunity for questions at the end. Available for all our Patreon members, whether they are on a free or paid membership. Sign up now : patreon.com/wreckreation
Wreckreation 2 is being developed in the open with regular playtests for our community. We're opening up more slots all the time. For #ScreenshotSaturday, here are a selection of player screenshots.
One of the best parts of developing in the open is being able to show work while it's still changing.
This week's Patreon update covers changes we're making to the city following playtest feedback, plus another example of the community helping us decide how the game should play. #wreckreation2

For #ScreenshotSaturday here is a sneak peek at a new car that's currently in development for #Wreckreation2.
It's one we've been asked for a lot ... our new Sports Compact. This fan-favourite body style is making a comeback and we think it's going to be seriously fun to drive. More screens can be found on our latest Patreon post.
If you're interested in seeing how our cars come to life, keep an eye on our Patreon. We'll soon be sharing a behind-the-scenes dev blog that follows the entire journey, from the first concepts through to the finished car in-game. patreon.com/Wreckreation
