I find the reactions to HaloBraid interesting.
1. Just like a tailor using an electric sewing machine, a braider using a tool doesn’t strip out your cultural identity.
2. The existing division of labor for braids is that a more skilled person does the roots and an apprentice completes the ends, so the work division makes sense imo.
3. This is v1. Everything we use today has gone through a similar iteration. It’s how we get dishwashers and self-driving cars and mobile phones.
Hardware is tough, but I’m excited to see tech innovation around black hair, we deserve cool things too.

Your husbands aren’t saving enough to retire themselves with dignity let alone both of you. Keep working.
I think if you are a married woman with kids who makes a modest salary and your husband is the clear breadwinner and you aren’t someone who is locked in to your career and would be cool staying at home and your husband doesn’t have the forethought to be like “daycare is gonna basically cost your entire salary anyway so just stay at home” he should be tarred and feathered
