TFP’s Sneaky Good Play of the Game goes to Deuce Fillmore on this big 3rd and long. Oregon is starting to move the ball this drive, but the Illini force them into an obvious passing situation. Jamari Johnson shows a block, but Deuce isn’t fooled and instantly recognizes the TE screen. He flies to the spot to beat the RT and blow up the play. If he reacts a split second slower, the RT likely seals the edge and creates a lane along the sideline for Johnson to pick up the first down or at least get them into the go zone on 4th down. You can’t teach these instincts. Love seeing a rotational player being ready for their moment and making the most of their opportunity. Think we’ll be seeing more of Deuce.

Shoutout to @Jbooty88 for this great call out in real time. Look at the way Barry Lunney Jr. manipulates the defense pre-snap. How do you help your true freshman QB out near the goal line when there isn’t much room to operate? Just scheme him up two wide open targets in the endzone. Masterclass from BLJ.
