Artists who are inspired by water is a fantastic theme to pursue with your students and one that artists have completed in so many different ways. Amongst the following artists, you will find paintings, pastel work, collage and textiles. Hopefully, something for all of your students to engage with. buff.ly/jgX8O68

Collage Techniques & Processes is a presentation that shows your students 9 different ways to collage. It shows: cut and torn edges, layering, glueing down and peeling back layers, using text, found papers, adding paint, two sorts of weaving and photomontage. (Of course, you can omit any slide that you don’t want students to try.) The presentation is included as both a PowerPoint and Google Slides link. buff.ly/DYqQIxD

It is never wrong to get your students looking at more artists and art. This artist research resource has been created to work alongside my famous artists listed by theme page. Students would need access to the internet to complete the tasks on this download. Students follow the instructions on the resource and select a category from the ‘Artists Listed by Theme’ page. They then follow the links and look up the artists. They choose an artist and answer the questions on paper or in their sketchbook. They then write about a piece of work by the artist in more detail. This download also includes a lesson plan should you wish to use this as a sub/cover lesson. buff.ly/XzsR1TZ

Rather than formally analysing and artwork, my 'I wonder...' range asks for a creative response. Each prompt starts ‘I wonder…’ which reinforces the idea that there is no one correct answer. Of course I have formal art analysis worksheets too! buff.ly/KCWj0hp

I just added a new section, 'Charcoal', to my artists listed by theme page. It includes links to artists with a body of work in charcoal. buff.ly/g9SuqkN

Did you see this last week? This unit has lots of choices, where students research artists and then draw a skull with a ballpoint pen. You can choose whether they photograph the skulls you provide or use the reference images included with the download. buff.ly/N8mpmj6

New this week: Cyanotype Negatives! Print the positives and negatives onto acetate so you can run a cyanotype workshop with your students right away. The images are digitally altered Ernst Haeckel images with an under-the-sea theme. buff.ly/vGNjJBx

There’s plenty for your students to get their teeth into with this ballpoint pen skull project, from creating experimental surfaces to building tone with expressive marks. Take a look at what’s involved at the link below. buff.ly/N8mpmj6
