Since I wasn’t “staff”, I had to get all the weird HR things you don’t think about turned back on. My phone got the local alert but was in a basement with tornado sirens when I realized everyone else had got a message from the university 🙃
I’m sorry it is taking away from the award. I dealt with the same in post doc elsewhere several years ago. I was not prepared to fight to keep my parking pass and emergency weather alerts, let alone deal with the taxes and insurance.
