custom made items is rude and disrespectful to the artist 👍
Our prices are set so we can support ourselves and we value our time and effort
If you can’t afford it that’s completely valid but haggling is just spitting in our face
Correct me if I'm wrong but, y'all believe freelance artists should conform to industry standards of pay while expecting them to do MORE than what a professional studio expects from one animator on a single team?
Love being reminded about how pretentious and performative people can be on the internet, invalidating the experiences of professional artists, disagreeing with facts on topics they have no real knowledge about, and calling people entitled for wanting fair financial compensation.
The price for the length of animation is irrelevant. How long is the animator taking to complete the commission? If it takes the artist one week to produce one second of hand-drawn animation, that is NOT a lot of money.

I once worked for an animated production for half a year, paid roughly $2500 a month. The total duration of my contributions was around a minute. That's $15000 for one minute of animation.
Y'all underestimate how many hours it takes to animate even one second of animation.
People like to use the argument that studio animators are getting paid less than what the artist is charging for animation. Guess what? Studios are underpaying their artists. That's one of the reasons why I quit working on anime and decided to focus on my Patreon work instead. 😒
This is why I'll probably never officially open animation commissions because people will complain about the prices even when it's based on LENGTH of animation. 24 frames a second, assuming that's 12 drawings per second, the artist is charging $20 per drawing which is reasonable.
