The misogyny in Igbo land is alarming. The truth is that they do it without even knowing it’s misogyny. This girl said her uncles made her stand up from a chair during her father’s burial because he me little brother wanted to sit. She is older than him with 10 years btw. They argued that since he is the only son, he is the head of the family and whatever he says strands. This boy is in secondary school btw and he has 5 older sisters. I also don’t know why the Igbo tribe don’t allow women have a share of the family properties like the men do. If it were the gbagyi tribe, the entire property will shared amongst the children both male and female.
