Earlier this month, Pal-Awda boasted about forcing a Jewish community event out of Queens. Now the group has set its sights on Riverdale, targeting Jewish families in our borough simply for gathering together. Riverdale is home to one of the most vibrant Jewish communities in New York, and its families deserve to come together without fear.
Organizing a campaign to hunt down these gatherings and drive them out of our neighborhoods is an attack on Jewish New Yorkers. Pushing anyone out of public life in our city because of their faith is nothing to celebrate, and the Bronx will not tolerate it.

The United Nations should confront impunity, not crown it.
The UAE has put forward a candidate for UN secretary-general. Its record is appalling.
It has armed Sudan’s genocidal RSF militia, which has carried out mass murder and mass rape. It also stands accused of arming and financing warlords and militias in Libya and across the Middle East—empowering war criminals who rule through violence and brutal repression.
It has bankrolled Trump and the dictators who crushed the Arab Spring, helping extinguish millions of people’s hopes for democracy, dignity, and freedom.
Elevating a UAE candidate to UN secretary-general would not be a triumph of diplomacy. It would be a debasement of the international system: rewarding a corrupt regime accused of enabling atrocities with leadership of the very institution charged with preventing them.
I am standing to be Secretary-General because I believe this is a moment to act with greater urgency: to act earlier, bring people together across difference, and drive the work forward until it produces concrete results. That is how we rebuild trust in the United Nations and ensure it delivers meaningful change for the people it exists to serve.

Water Truck No. 21 reaches displaced families in Gaza.
Day after day, we continue to provide more trucks loaded with drinking water and deliver them to displacement camps across Gaza, where families depend on us as their only source of water.
Despite all the challenges, we will not stop trying. We will continue our efforts for as long as we can, because we believe that access to clean water is not a luxury, but a fundamental right that no human being should be denied.

I’ll say it honestly: I’m tired of breathing in the smell of death and gunpowder in Gaza for more than three years.
I’m tired of the sounds of explosions, of constantly trying to escape death every time, and of living under the threat of it every single moment.
I’m tired of the fact that all we can hope for is to survive and live another day.
