Gatekeepers South Africa has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to raise the country’s legal drinking age by five years. It proposes that the minimum age for purchasing alcohol be increased from 18 to 23 and banning of alcohol advertising in all public spaces. Founding Director Lizelle Maurice says the country's alcohol consumption has spiralled out of control.
