Also would be nice if we could, as a society, stop paying these grifters like star athletes..

NYT reports AK Dems put spoiler candidate on ballot with same name as Republican incumbent senator. Dems: "Yawn," "It's just politics," "Nothing illegal," "I don't like it but it doesn't matter," "norms, schmorms." A week later, MI Dem politician endorses GOP senate candidate. Dems: "This is the biggest outrage since the Defenestration of Prague!" "this will radicalize people!" "this Quisling should be flayed alive!" "Why has she not been turned into a pillar of salt yet?!?"

Since 2000, NIH and NSF have put about $1.5 billion into research grants that use terms like “structural racism,” “intersectionality” and “antiracism.” The biggest funder wasn’t the science agency you’d expect. NIH, the health agency, paid $1.23B across 882 projects. NSF paid $302M across 527 awards. NIH outspent NSF about 4 to 1.

The timeline is a spike, not a slope. $79M in 2020. After the protests and Biden’s Day One equity order, $371M in 2023. After Trump’s 2025 DEI orders, $68M in 2026. Down 82% from the peak.

In a weird way, everybody is rooting for you. When you go to a job interview, the interviewer wants you to be amazing so they don’t have to look anymore. when you go on a date, the person wants to have an amazing date with you. If you make a piece of content, people want to see amazing pieces of content and they have no problem if it’s yours. the instant you get into the mindset that people want you to do well, your entire world gets better. And you’ll be shocked to know this pattern keeps repeating in different areas of life.
Hit me with the harshest reality truth.

Federal money is the fastest lever. It rose 4.7× in three years, then fell 82% in three more. What lasts is endowed: chairs, university funds and tenure outlive any grant. Full map: asturias-project.onrender.co…

A note on the numbers: counts include any grant that uses a term, even once. About 45% of NIH dollars came from grants that use one in the title or more than once. NIH counts fiscal years; NSF counts award start years.
