A big milestone for AtlasPool. Our first four endpoints — Ashburn, Portland, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong — are now running our newest build, and the early results on stratumrace.com are incredibly promising. Over the past 24 hours AtlasPool has won roughly 4 out of 5 block notification races against 25+ monitored pools. This build is the culmination of a lot of research and hard work chasing one goal: the most performant Bitcoin pool available to miners. Without going too deep into the weeds, it pairs the latest Bitcoin Core and ckpool with our own self-built tooling to squeeze out every last drop of performance, all running on blazing-fast AWS Graviton EC2 instances placed in some of the most interconnected locations in the world. It's been a real learning journey, and I'd be remiss not to thank a few people who helped along the way: @ProofOfMike — whose idea and early work measuring block notification speed eventually grew into stratumrace.com, and who's been a great sounding board for ways to improve the pool. @philip_dath — who has worked with me on a range of performance improvements across both the node and the stratum server. We're still at it today, and I really appreciate his expertise and his friendly attitude. Aviral at @Altair_tech — who understood AtlasPool from our very first conversation, and has supported the pool with important introductions, giveaways, and no shortage of encouraging words. @mutatrum — a longtime friend of the pool and a valuable technical sounding board, who helped pin down a few bugs. An all-around good dude. @WantClue — First person to interview me for a podcast and also added AtlasPool to the BitForge Nano firmware. And last but not least, Con Kolivas (CK) — whose awesome stratum server implementation is the bedrock of AtlasPool. A huge thank-you as well to our AtlasPool Discord crew, who keep the pool going with hashing, humor, and expertise: metaprinter (our first moderator, GZR, Travetown, RBX (first Aussie on the pool!), Beckels, Happy Day, Jeebz, BlackHole, proandres6 (biggest share so far at 66T), Mr. KV3 (we miss you!), Blockdyor (who wrote the first AtlasPool review), and many more. And a thank-you to DTV Electronics and the South African Bitcoin community for the sponsorship that helps power our London and Cape Town endpoints. If anyone else out there would be interested in sponsoring an endpoint, I'd love to hear from you. I'll be honest: it's a little disappointing that after nearly a year of operation AtlasPool hasn't found a block yet. But every one of these improvements shortens the odds, and I believe that moment is coming soon. Until then, I'll keep building and operating the most performant and reliable Bitcoin pool I can. Onward. 🧡

🏆 A NerdOctaxe just found at 50.5T best share. This is the new leader in our monthly contest and also the third best share on the pool ever. Tough to beat, but still four days left! If you are wallet owner ..pKft, DM me for prize info.
🏆 We have a new contest leader! A Canaan Avalon Q just posted a 9.8484 T share — the biggest of the month so far. Bonus flex: it missed the all-time top 10 by just 0.0019 T (~1.9 G). So close. 😮‍💨 Could this be our winner? Plenty of month left. ⛏️💎

Ashburn, Portland, and Hong Kong are back on top on stratumrace.com. Since our last build we'd been chasing a small performance regression. It's now resolved on all three nodes, and they're back to leading on block notification speed. Frankfurt is next in line for an update.

The AtlasPool Hong Kong node was upgraded to the new build on late October 20 (UTC). So far, so good. The deployment was delayed a bit while I worked on a small improvement and waited to mine another testnet4 block (thank you @philip_dath). Safety first!
New build deployed to Ashburn (US) and Portland (US) endpoints. So far, very good. I'm carefully monitoring those servers before I deploy to the rest of the constellation. I will share more details about the rollout progress and the build itself in the coming week or so. Thanks and find that block!

WHERE ARE THE SOLO MINING BLOCKS?! ⛏️ CKPool: 286% of expected work Parasite: 228% AtlasPool: 128% Across their respective droughts, that’s ~6.4 blocks’ worth of work with NOTHING to show for it. Screw you, variance. SHOW ME A HOME MINER BLOCK.

The accumulated difficulty-adjusted work of AtlasPool (167T) + CKPool (351T) + Parasite Pool (292T) = 810T. Statistically, the odds of not finding a block with this about of work are 0.22%. One of us is due! Cheering on all solo miners, but hoping that it's AtlasPool next!

⚡️ What is Accumulated Work? Every share our miners submit adds up into "difficulty-adjusted work" — a measure of how much real hashing AtlasPool has done toward finding a block. At today's network difficulty (127.45T), one block is expected per 127.45T of work. AtlasPool has now accumulated 156.2T — that's 1.23× the work needed for an average block. 🧡 Solo mining is memoryless: every share is a fresh lottery ticket, and our next one could be the winner. Onward to block #1. 🚀

⚠️ Public Service Announcement: A friendly reminder that zsolo.bid, luckymonster.pro, and millpools.cc are complete scam pools. They claim to be bitcoin mining pools but return the block height for BCH. Using these pools earns these scammers BCH from your miners. You receive nothing... ever. Stay away! When a new block is found, the clock starts ticking. Miners still hashing the old block are doing wasted work. The faster your pool notifies you, the less you waste. This is what AtlasPool is built around. StratumRace.com measures block notification timing across pools from four locations worldwide, connecting to every pool at once so the comparison is apples-to-apples.

Thanks @altair_tech and @karpuzmining for the kind words. We agree with your sentiment that AtlasPool's awesome infrastructure and relentless focus on performance makes it the least latent and most available solo bitcoin pool! Check us out!
"AtlasPool is the BEST Bitcoin solo pool around." 🍉 @karpuzmining said it, then switched every miner over. ⛏️🧡 Crazy infrastructure. Zero lost shares. Blistering notify speed. Your lottery ticket deserves better. 🎟️ solo.atlaspool.io @AtlasPool_io
