Episode 3 of Atleti en Ingles is live! I’m joined by @nicsginthings to talk about her Atlético origin story, her art and Etsy shop, getting featured by the club’s official account, and the growth of the English-speaking Atleti community. Watch here👇 youtube.com/watch?v=l-8KBb3P…

Bummer about Cardoso. His injuries woes are starting to become an active concern for me. Last season alone, he had four separate injuries that caused him to miss 16 matches across over 75 days. I think Simeone will go with a back four of Grimaldo, Hancko, Romero & Pubill with Koke, Llorente and Barrios in midfield, which should be more than enough.

Atlético de Madrid have conceded just 8 goals this season in LaLiga and have a total of 6 clean sheets in 11 league matches. Of the 8 goals: - 3 came from penalties (Alaves and Villarreal x2) - 1 came from a set piece (Real Madrid) - 4 came from open play (3 came against Athletic Club in the San Mames & 1 against Sevilla) All that to say, outside of one really bad match against Athletic Club, Atleti are playing some of the most sound defensive football I’ve seen in years.

Massive result for Atleti who win against Levante in Valencia for the first time since June 2020. Another difficult away fixture, another win for Atelti. +3 points that (for now) sees Atlético Madrid go top of the table. It’s a clean sheet, 7 wins in a row in LaLiga and 9 matches undefeated in all competitions. Up next: Bayern Munich

“An absolutely brilliant goal from Atleti” - @DonaldsonESPN and I can’t help but agree! Lovely build up play from Atleti to break the press to eventually find Baena who delivers (another x2) ball to Giuliano who knocks it home. Atleti up 2-0 on Levante with just under 30 minutes to go. Let’s see this one out.

Atleti up at half and tough to argue it’s not deserved. Outside of the first 10 minutes, Atleti have been the better and more dangerous side. Plenty of chance creation, just missing that final focal point in the box. This match needs David or Sørloth and Atleti should be able to see this one out.

GRIMALDOOOOOOOO!!! Another great goal from Alejandro Grimaldo from (another) great pass from Alex Baena! Atleti up 1-0 in Valencia just before halftime and it’s definitely deserved. Vamos!

Brilliant ball from Baena to set up Morten Hjulmand’s opener, but unfortunately Hjulmand is offside. Bummer.

So nervous about this trip to Valencia to play Levante that I decided to do three separate previews for it. Lots of good stuff and fun times as always with @alex_pato07 & @SaintKeeks1. Go give it a listen.

No Koke or Cardoso but Romero is back in the squad! I have a growing suspicion that he’ll start tomorrow. Levante have a legit aerial threat in Petar Ratkov and Atleti are going to need Romero to help neutralize that threat.

My (written) preview on @intothecalderon is up! Atleti travel to Valencia looking for their seventh consecutive LaLiga victory, but a difficult stretch of matches awaits Simeone's side. Team news, key players, historical matchup and more ahead of Saturday's clash. intothecalderon.com/previews…

Looks like we’re finally getting some good news about injuries, as Cuti Romero, Koke and now Cardoso are all returning to training in some capacity. I think Koke and Cardoso will be saved for Bayern/Barca but perhaps we’ll see a little bit of Romero against Levante on Saturday.
