Behind every name is a story, a passion, and a life cut tragically short.
Sahil wasn't just a student he was a leader, an athlete, and the convener of the institute's badminton club. Yet institutional negligence continues to claim our brightest minds.
We demand truth. We demand accountability.

Rather suspectful when an organisation operating in India will register itself to official scrutiny in the United States of America, but will not register itself in India. While at it, why would it do something like this - is it more accountable to America?

Indians cried and outraged for a Sri Lankan in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, this is India - where judges cite Hindu scriptures Vedas and Manusmriti to sentence Muslim men to life for cow slaughter.
Not a whisper from the so called free speech warriors.

Why Deleted Voters Asked To File Form 6 When They Were On 2026 Rolls? Supreme Court Asks ECI
1. The Requirement of a "False Declaration"
• The Problem: Form 6 is strictly a statutory form meant for the fresh registration of first-time voters.
• The Trap: It requires applicants to sign a mandatory declaration stating that they have never been enrolled or voted before.
• The Penalty: Forcing previously registered voters to sign this means making a false statement, an offence punishable under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, which carries a penalty of up to one year of imprisonment, a fine, or both.
2. Destruction of Electoral History
• Filing Form 6 completely breaks a person's continuous electoral history.
• An uninterrupted voter history is frequently used as critical supporting proof for citizenship, identity, and claiming state welfare benefits (such as housing schemes).
3. Misclassification of Shifted Voters
• Activists and legal experts argued that the vast majority of the deleted names belonged to people who had simply changed their residence, redeveloped their homes, or were migrant laborers temporarily away when verification forms were distributed
• Instead of Form 6, these voters should have been allowed to fill out Form 8—the designated form meant for updating addresses and correcting existing voter details. However, the ECI blocked the use of Form 8 during the revision process, forcing the first-time voter route instead.

What a bloody mess. Two foreign airlines will rather not fly out of Mumbai than shift to Navi Mumbai, as Adani wants.

Mumabi police has filed FIR against me including 13 people which for assembling at Chaityabhoomi.
I ask Mumbai Police that do Buddhists need permission to gather at Buddhists site. Interestingly, how can at a religious place they impose restrictions on Gathering. Can section 144 imposeed at religious place is already crowded. Was it my mistake to demand justice for our own brother who lost his life in Institutional murder?

Yesterday, we went to Anand Nagar for campaigning. A mother has lost her son, and it is deeply saddening that she is fighting this battle all on her own.
Sahil’s mother stands alone today, not because her cause is wrong, but because our silence protects the perpetrators. This must end NOW.
Every mother in our community must wake up to the threat, if we don’t rally together and force justice for Sahil today, tomorrow another mother will be left stranded by the same indifferent system.
Break the silence! Join the struggle for Sahil!

first you delete . then you make an appeal to apply using form 6 with an illegal declaration ( liable with a 1 year jail term for misrepresentation) that you are a "first time voter"!!
The election Commission and its proceedures are a cruel joke on people, democracy, and citizens
VIDEO | Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukumar says, "I appeal to all the eligible voters of Karnataka. If your name is not there in the electoral roll, kindly apply through Form 6, your name will be definitely added into the electoral roll after due verification. I could assure, we have taken lot of special drives, campaigns and publicity campaigns. So, every voter is aware of and I specially appeal to voters who complete 18 years of age. The moment you complete 18 years of age, kindly apply immediately, definitely enrol your name into the electoral roll."

First, we were restricted from gathering at Chaityabhoomi. Now, the Mumbai Police are preventing us from holding meetings even inside Buddha Viharas to discuss the Sahil Wakode case.
Are our Chaityabhoomi and our Buddha Viharas no longer ours?
Wake up, Buddhists!
If we are blocked from coming together even at our own religious places to demand justice, how much longer are we going to stay silent?
How much longer will we tolerate these restrictions on our rights?
Now is not the time to keep quiet. It is time to stand united, raise our voices, and fight for our rights!

The government of India, through Ministry of Road Transport and highways is a data broker selling our personal data.
Shameful. No wonder govt wanted to exempt itself from dpdp act.
Your number plate can reveal your full name, address and insurance details to anyone with ₹29 and an app.
Our RTIs found that NIC issued 25,000+ private credentials to query VAHAN and eChallan since January 2024, leading to 17 million private lookups. On October 1, private data sharing was quietly switched off with no public notice. Meanwhile, the logs that could prove misuse are set to expire.
We’ve filed first appeals demanding accountability and preservation of those logs.

Hi @DelhiPolice can you please clarify if this behaviour is an aberration by this particular officer or is this what officers are being asked to do categorically now to harass media constantly and prevent them from reporting ongoing events? Since when did reporting on the streets invite a threat of ‘chalaan’- kindly define that too?
Unbelievable.
A Delhi Police officer confronts an independent journalist, warning him that he cannot report from the road and will be CHALLANED for reporting with a mic and camera.
And yes, he’s the SAME officer who asked @Saurabh_Unmute, “Ye kya hai red mic?” and denied him entry to cover Delhi protest.

India has no democracy for Dalits.
Why is Mumbai Police detaining students and activists gathered at Chaityabhoomi to demand justice in IIT BOMBAY student Sahil Wakode's institutional murder case?
Can't Dalits seek justice under BJP govt?

This is not a just a protest, it is now a moral reckoning of the state & Chaityabhoomi will stand vigil. My piece in @TheQuint
On average a student dies on IIT campus once every 5 weeks. Thousands more dropout/ burn out/ get mental trauma-- each of these students come to IIT with the hope/aspiration for a better life.
The toxic casteist system chokes them, fails them. Denies them democratic possibilities of upwards mobility. The system needs to answer.
At a time when massive protests over ‘vote-chori’ are playing out across #India, this seemingly small battlefield over a campus suicide may become a much larger flashpoint that hits close to the very idea of India’s democracy. @ProfRavikantK writes.
