How many of the homies will I see at the WSOP Circuit stop in Austin at @texascardhouse?! I didn’t get to play much this summer and it’s the first time I’ve actually gotten to go play a circuit stop.

I think one of the most important skills in poker is the skill of simplifying. When you're studying, you have unlimited time. You can look at outputs, compare sizings, study frequencies and understand exactly why a strategy looks the way it does. Then Sunday comes. You have 20 seconds, 12 tables and somebody has done something slightly different from what you studied. In that moment, your job isn't to remember the strategy. Your job is to create a strategy. I think of poker strategy a little bit like painting. You have different colours and textures available to you. Your value hands, your bluffs, your sizings, your frequencies, your blockers, your opponent's tendencies. Your job is to take what's in front of you and paint a picture that makes sense. Maybe I decide this spot wants a big bet. Okay, what are my strongest value hands? What worse hands am I actually trying to get called by? If those are my value bets, which bluffs naturally go alongside them? Which hands don't want to bet? Suddenly I've created a strategy. It might not be the perfect strategy. If I put the spot into a solver afterwards, maybe it uses 67% instead of 100%. Maybe one bluff I chose prefers checking. Maybe I've missed an entire category of hands. That's okay. Because the alternative is trying to recreate somebody else's painting from memory. You vaguely remember what it looked like. There was some red over here, some blue over there, this hand bet 70% of the time, that hand mixed, this combo checked... But you'll never recreate the whole painting. And when one part of the spot changes, stack size, position, sizing, opponent, suddenly the picture you're trying to remember doesn't even exist anymore. This is where I think some players get lost studying poker. They become incredibly good at remembering solutions and not necessarily good at building strategies. I'd much rather somebody understand why we're betting and construct a simple, logical strategy themselves than perfectly remember 15 frequencies from a sim they studied three weeks ago. The best simplification isn't making poker less sophisticated. It's understanding something complicated well enough that you can rebuild it simply. Don't try to remember the painting. Learn what the colours do, then paint your own.

I needed a couple days but just wanted to say this for anyone out there going through it in life and or in poker I hope a little bit of this gives you some light that anything you pour enough time into work hard and with a little bit of good timing and luck anything is possible and within reach. Secondly I would like to say that I could not of done any of this without my community and people too many people to tag but @padspoker @bigredpokerr @Matt_Bode79 @brianb625 just to name a couple could not have been more important and vital in helping me reach the mountain top and truly don’t have enough words to say thank you. Finally I would like to say this is not the last you’re going to see of me I’ll be around always willing to talk and will do my best to be the best ambassador I can I know I’m young but truly want to give back to the game that has given me so much in any possible way I can. I love yall thank you truly feeling so blessed and this won’t be the last you see of me I promise.

Patrick, I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did for Lucas during this Main Event run. I know everyone is going to remember the win, but most people will never see how much work went on behind the scenes to help make it happen. The time you put in, the strategy, the conversations, and just always being there for him made a huge difference. Having someone like you in his corner gave him the best chance to succeed, and I know he couldn’t have asked for a better coach. Watching one of my best friends accomplish something we’ve all dreamed about was one of the coolest moments of my life, and I’m really grateful you were such a big part of it. I honestly can’t thank you enough for everything you did for him. I really appreciate you, @padspoker . Thank you. —Hayden

Cue the tears when Saaskilahti went over to Jumalon’s rail and shook his father’s hand. Classy is an understatement. This #WSOP Main Event final table had it all- epic hero calls, fearless bluffs, and bad beats, but most importantly, easy people to root for. What a great representation for #poker. Big congrats to @LukeJu22!

An infectious personality with a love for his friends and family that was seen way before the final table. Courage to make the plays he believes in. Young and respectful to all. Willing to and wanting to take on ambassador role that we desperately need in poker. @LukeJu22 is everything we could hope for from a main event winner and I hope he finishes the job tonight. If he doesn’t he can still be so many of those things. I think we have a true lifer with this kid and I’m wishing nothing but success for him. Go be HIM tonight!

I’ve poured myself into this project these last few years and I can’t tell you how proud I am of the 52-card deck we made. It’s not just about the art, it’s about a whole new set of mechanics introduced to the game to make it more interactive. Make poker game night again!
We’re doing it! Share and comment to support for now. Can’t wait to share this poker experience with you all. AMA about the game. Hold’em For Dear Life coming to you soon!

Let’s go Baby Luke! Smart, confident, and still humble, the kid’s the whole package.
Got the chip leader of the Main Lucas Jumalon tonight on Poker Weekly (Sirius XM channel 82 5pm PST). Love this kid he is the truth I mean that. Then Chris Moneymaker joining what can you say, legend is an understatement. Also Lasko is pulling up and as always Mr White if we can find him. Main Event weekend baby, plays to a winner live next week over three nights on ESPN. See you guys soon 🙏
