What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Ruský útok na civilisty na vlakovém nádraží v Dnipru je neomluvitelný. Myslím na rodiny, které se už svých blízkých nedočkají, i na zraněné a všechny Ukrajince, kteří takovému teroru čelí roky.
Ukrajina letos opakovaně veřejně potvrdila, že je připravena jednat o míru. Je na Rusku, aby stejnou ochotu konečně prokázalo také svými činy.

Russia has finished using the civilians in Oleshky as human shields. They will now be relocated further into the occupied territories with this Administration’s blessing. Children will be vanished into Russia as gifts for oligarchs. Women who survive the rapes in the filtration camps will be sent to Siberia to work in military industries. Men will be shot if they have the slightest connection to the Ukrainian military, or if purely civilians, put into Russian prison camps to be tortured around the clock until they are eventually traded for well-fed, well-cared-for Russian POWs captured while committing war crimes in Ukraine.
Are you proud of your “humanitarian” work, @MELANIATRUMP @FLOTUS ? Will you sleep well in a soft bed knowing you looked serious and useful while the cameras were rolling?

Despite the phone call between Stubb and President Putin, the Europeans will not have any seats at negotiation table. This, because the EU has lost its own credibility as a Peace actor. The EU provided direct military aid, fueled russophobia and acted hostile against Russia in the past years. The decision by Russia to not invite any EU leader is fully understandable.
Personally I want a seat at negotiations table, I want to be involved in Peace process for Ukraine. @kadmitriev Will you invite me Sir?

Ukraine's HIMERA and Denmark's GomSpace have confirmed that OBRIA NANO, the first test satellite for Ukraine's future sovereign communications network, is now operating in orbit.
Key details:
• Launched aboard SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission on 1 October.
• Currently undergoing in-orbit testing to validate technologies for the future OBRIA constellation.
• Operated under Ukrainian control.
• The long-term goal is nationwide satellite communications coverage, complementing European networks.
• Future plans include manufacturing satellites and ground terminals in Ukraine.
The strategic significance is substantial.
Ukraine currently relies heavily on foreign-controlled satellite communications infrastructure. OBRIA aims to reduce that dependence and give Kyiv greater control over a critical wartime capability.
This is still a technology demonstration, not an operational national network.

Negotiations between the Ukrainian delegation and Donald Trump's special envoys in Miami, as reported by Le Monde, escalated into a conflict. According to the publication, during a three-hour meeting at the Shell Bay golf club, Steve Witkoff "with irritation" demanded that Kyrylo Budanov, head of Zelenskyy's office, cease strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Budanov, per Le Monde's information, "barely contained his anger" and felt that he was being "treated like a child, trying to teach him how to make money." The Americans presented an ambitious plan for postwar "regional prosperity," which envisioned resuming the transit of Russian oil and gas to Europe through Ukraine, with dividends paid to Kyiv.
Budanov was outraged that such a deal would tie Ukraine to Moscow, after which the negotiations broke off. When the meeting resumed, the Americans proposed accepting a deal for supplies of Russian diesel to the United States.
The publication's sources noted that they had never seen Ukrainians "so upset and alarmed." Zelenskyy's entourage described the situation as "hopeless," since Trump's envoys "think only about business."
