If you’re doing research in human sleep & circadian rhythms, you should check this out. Will make getting excellent data MUCH easier!
CHI Data Portal is live! Drag and drop your MiEye light data and a sleep diary for incredibly detailed light analysis and circadian phase & amplitude modeling. Some nice figures too! Go check it out and take a test drive with our sample data files here: circadianhealthinnovations.c…

There is more to our motivations toward light than we’re aware. Our new study led by Malisa Burge shows a powerful motivation in humans toward this blue-enriched light: reducing negative thoughts of ourselves. Is this why we overlight our nights?

It’s time!!! ACS 2024 is nearly here. It should be another awesome event. Registration and abstracts open.

Circadian timing🕒 is important for health, but circadian amplitude🏔️may be even more important. We found stronger core body temperature amplitude ➡️ more robust peripheral metabolite rhythms in humans. A robust clock organises the body's rhythms.

Our latest work on the health impacts of light is out in The Lancet Regional Health-Europe. We examined personal light exposure in 85,000 people and found that the risk of developing diabetes was far greater in people exposed to more light at night. The good news is that healthy light patterns could mitigate genetic risk.
Work led by Daniel Windred, with @anguscburns, @circadianumbers, and a fantastic team of collaborators.

Using objective measures of sleep in a cohort of >60,000 individuals the authors found people with more irregular sleep patterns have a higher risk of premature mortality & that sleep regularity is a stronger predictor of mortality risk than sleep duration ow.ly/LHWv50POsB9
It’s that time of year again! Abstracts are due for ACS 2023 this Friday. This year we are in Adelaide, November 7th. Should be another fun day of great circadian science.

Healthy light is key for healthy longevity. We looked at light exposure patterns in >88,000 people (14 million hours of light data) and found that brighter light in the night was associated with higher mortality risk in the following years. Computational modeling indicated that circadian disruption explains this mortality risk.
Do yourself a favor and keep your nights dark!
Epic work led by Dan Windred with @circadianumbers, @anguscburns and a great team.
