Earlier today I detected a cybersecurity incident affecting my systems.
The incident has been contained and there is no evidence of misuse at this time.
That may because I was the cause of the incident and I tried to hack myself just to fit in.
I like how as soon as I saw this video I knew with 100% certainty the guy holding the microphone is LDS (Mormon)
College professor left completely stumped after @KaiSchwemmer started talking in Spanish after the professor said he welcomed mass migration.
Schwemmer: Would it be an issue if every city spoke a different language?
Professor: No.
Schwemmer: "Entonces sería bastante difícil si estuviéramos hablando, entendernos, porque nosotros no podemos entender lo que estamos diciendo y no podemos alcanzar tener respeto mutuo."
Brilliant.
I like that the discourse has moved to the point where we don’t even have to discuss *why* someone would be in jail if there were a different president.
We just assert confidently that they would be.
On the Bulwak podcast, Kara Swisher says Elon might already be in jail under Kamala Harris, and "he knows what's coming for him."
Another one to put in the "what Democrats plan to do if they take power" file:
"If Donald Trump loses the House and the Senate, I would worry. I'd be worried if I were him."
"So they're going to start investigating again. You think he's not on the list? He's at the top of that list."
"He has a very big sense of fate. And I think it's coming for him. And real hard."
They're all just saying this stuff out loud now. There are no secrets about what they want to do.

Week 5 @gauntletai ⚔️
No Week 4 post. I was heads down during my first week onsite in Austin 🤠
Made up for it this week by shipping 3 AI agent apps:
📞 AI call center agent that books, reschedules, and cancels, and reads it all back before saving
🧭 Onboarding assistant that walks new users through setup
🤖 Multi-agent platform on one shared knowledge base
110/113 validation checks passed. 10/10 on adversarial safety tests.

Today at 12 PM CT. Every job post says AI-first. Oracle’s Kay Malcolm and our COO Brett Johnson on what it means and how to hire for it. Free and live: buff.ly/oKuNugz
Who is building the gang of white hat vigilantes using code execution vulnerabilities to force old websites to update and protect themselves?
I’m blown away at how many recruiters we *still* run into who think like this.
It wasn’t true before AI, but in a world with AI?
If you think someone with 10 years of React experience can’t ship Node I’m not sure what to tell you.
A hack at the root of all PHP versions is brutal.
The website someone put up 15 years ago on a cheap host that no one remembers how to log into is now the direct target.
Full details of a remotely exploitable vulnerability in the core engine of *all* PHP versions will be released tomorrow, October 21st. If your organization has internet facing PHP applications then you need to be ready to patch the minute the update is released or *strongly* consider taking the application offline until you can:
php.net/index.php#2026-10-20…
And yes DM me if you have extremely high quality C/C++/Go/MATLAB/Rust codebases kicking around
$SPCX Q3 updates:
Revenue: $14.6B (up 161% YOY)
Net income: $4.4B (up $5.1B from net loss of $1.1B last year)
Adjusted EBITDA: $8.8B (up 306% YOY)
Sheeeeeesh
Conversation I just had:
"I have an enterprise C++ codebase that was deprecated in the mid 2000s, I'm trying to determine what it's worth."
"Wow, how many pull requests are in the codebase?"
"...Zero, Git didn't exist yet."
Oh yeah
The hot topic on HackerNews over the past few days with regard to AI is whether or not you need to actually understand the code that's shipping to production.
And there is enthusiastic discussion both ways.
On HackerNews.

If your interview still tests writing code from memory, you’re grading the part AI already does.
Oracle’s Kay Malcolm goes live with Gauntlet COO Brett Johnson this Wednesday, Oct 21, at 12 PM CT / 1 PM ET, on how to spot AI-first developers before you hire.
If you're coming to Austin Tech Week swing by Gauntlet HQ next week!
When your FDE leaves, everything they learned about your business goes with them.
Stop by Gauntlet HQ during #AustinTechWeek for a conversation between Aater Suleman of Vixul and @Austen on who should own that knowledge, and how to lock it in before the engagement starts.
