Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s yardage total by year:
Year 1: 628 yards
Year 2: 1,130 yards
Year 3: 1,793 yards
He’s in year 4 and on pace for 2,032 yards..
JSN has taken a major leap every single year
Transactions this offseason that look incredible so far:
- Ken Walker III signed a 3 Year, $43M contract and is on pace for 2,261 Rushing Yards and 27 TD’s..
The Chiefs are 5-0 and their offense is being carried by Ken Walker. You could seriously argue that no skill position player in the NFL is having a greater impact on their offense right now.
- Isaiah Likely signed a 3 Year, $40M contract and is on pace for 111 receptions, 1,085 yards, and 14 TD’s.
To be completely transparent, Isaiah Likely looks like the #1 TE in the NFL through 6 weeks.. he leads all TE’s in yards (383) and TD’s (5).. John Harbaugh clearly got his guy.
- Kirk Cousins signed a 1 Year, $11M contract and is on pace for 40 TD’s and 4,482 Yards..
The Raiders genuinely look like a playoff team and have already matched their win total from last year (3), Kirk Cousins is somehow playing some of the very best football in his 15th season.. just like we all predicted
- Mike Evans signed a 3 Year, $42M contract and is on pace for 77 Receptions, 1,190 Yards, and 9 TD’s..
Despite missing multiple quarters and battling Achilles tendinitis, Evans STILL has more than twice as many receiving yards (420) as any other 49ers WR (Deebo Samuel, 206).. That tells you everything you need to know about the state of San Francisco’s receiving corps.
Honorable mention:
- Kyler Murray signed a 1 Year, $1.3M contract and the Vikings are 5-0.. Yes, he’s missed multiple games and doesn’t look particularly sharp but he’s clearly given Minnesota some stability.
Kyler is a much more competent game manager than JJ McCarthy and Carson Wentz were last season. If Kyler starts playing significantly better then I would view the Vikings as a legitimate threat in the playoffs.
Realistic landing spots for Players who could be traded before the deadline:
- Jonathan Taylor to the Giants
- Saquon Barkley to the Broncos
- Quentin Johnston to the Patriots
- Brian Thomas Jr. to the Rams
- Tony Pollard to the Seahawks
- Josh Downs to the 49ers
- Mac Jones to the Eagles
The NFL trade deadline is November 10th, I’m expecting some notable trades to happen this week
Players you can actually buy cheap to save your fantasy season:
You have a golden opportunity this week
4. Bucky Irving (RB15 this year)
- 6.9 Points this week (RB34)
- 21 Touches, 49 Yards
Baker Mayfield is set to practice on Wednesday.. Bucky Irving also played 85% of Snaps last week (4th in the NFL)..
The workload has been outstanding, Bucky Irving has amassed 15+ Touches in all 6 games and 20+ over the last 2..
He’s on pace for 320 Touches and 1,490 yards.. this offense is going to dramatically improve with stronger QB play (Baker Mayfield) very soon
5. AJ Brown (WR120 this season)
- 5.7 Points this week (WR58)
- 3 Receptions, 27 Yards
Romeo Doubs was just placed on the IR and AJ Brown has finally returned from his ankle injury..
Earning 10 Targets in his first game back was extremely reassuring but he only came away with 3 Receptions..
AJ Brown is going to get peppered with Targets for the rest of the season, Drake Maye has looked so sharp over the last 3 weeks as well (11 TD’s, 1 INT)..
The Colts are objectively in an awful spot
Firing Chris Ballard is a huge step in the right direction but he pushed all the chips in prior to leaving
- Jets own Indianapolis’ 2027 1st
- Daniel Jones was extended this offseason
- Alec Pierce (hurt) is wildly overpaid ($114M)
- Won't get the return they paid for Sauce
- Quenton Nelson’s contract expires in 2026
Teams should be blowing up Indianapolis’ phones as early as today and inquiring for Jonathan Taylor, Quenton Nelson, Josh Downs, Laiatu Latu, Grover Stewart, DeForest Buckner, and Charvarius Ward
Notable Information:
- Colts have a potential OUT from Daniel Jones contract after this season (2 Years, $88M)
- Translation: Daniel Jones will be cut this offseason
My final thoughts:
Chris Ballard is firmly in the conversation for the worst GM in NFL history.
He is the only GM over the last 45 seasons to keep his job for over a decade with less than 3 playoff appearances and less than 2 playoff wins.
Shane Steichen has been dreadful to be blunt.
He’s in his 4th season and is 7-24 against teams with a record of .500 or better.. with 0 playoff appearances as well, we’ve seen more than enough.
Start Anthony Richardson for the rest of the season, I know he’s not the answer but immediate changes need to be implemented.
The most realistic way to turn this franchise around (in my opinion that no one asked for) would be to:
- Offer Peyton Manning a deal he can’t resist for the GM role (landing him is a pipe dream)
- No I don’t expect Peyton to takeover as their new GM but you need to prioritize him during this search
- Other potential GM’s I’d like to see interviewed include: Alec Halaby (with full confidence), John McKay, or Mike Bradway (in that order)
- Draft a legitimate starting QB in the 1st round of 2028, hopefully Indianapolis is selecting in the top 10
- Hire Brian Flores (Minnesota’s Defensive Coordinator) as Head Coach
Colts fans, the rebuild is just beginning
Austin Abbott retweeted
Colts fans waking up this morning
The Colts have fired their General Manager, Chris Ballard, per @TomPelissero
Malik Nabers since Week 4:
- 1st in PPG (26.9)
- 1st in Yards (398)
- 2nd in Receptions (29)
The WR1 overall in that span
Reminder that he’s coming off a torn ACL a year ago and has been playing with back up QB’s during this stretch
Week 6 thoughts:
- JJ McCarthy should start next week for the Giants, I’ve seen enough from Jameis
- Fire everyone in Indianapolis, start Anthony Richardson
- Germie Bernard might be Pittsburgh’s WR1 ROS
- Drake Maye has been exceptional over the last 3 weeks.. 11 TD’s, 1 INT
- Caleb Williams’ accuracy was so absurd this week, 30/36 (83.3%) sheesh
- Carnell Tate remains one of the few bright spots in Tennessee (70 yards, 1 TD)
