If some ancaps or libertarians persist in claiming that the Nazis were socialists, then why shouldn't I be allowed to label Milei an anarcho-capitalist? Ancaps dislike being misunderstood themselves, yet they feel free to redefine other ideologies or subject them to excessive, arbitrary interpretations. If one adopts a perspectivist stanceโ€”arguing that there is no single "correct" interpretation and that history is open to various readingsโ€”why abandon that perspective when refuting critics of anarcho-capitalism? To be clear, as a perspectivist and post-structuralist myself, I agree that there is no definitive, "correct" interpretation of history. However, a misreading is not the same thing as a valid alternative interpretation. At the very least, one should understand the conceptual definitions before launching a critique.

This is completely true btw and also would apply to transhumanism
Eugenics as an active program is bad for the same reason other forms of central planning are bad, like for example zoning

I think because of praxeology. It's a great tool. Though, Hayek's focus on information is also very good... Tbh saying one is better than other doesn't make much sense to me. Both made useful insights, both were wrong about some things.

There is a canonical critique within the Austrian School that portrays F. A. Hayek as a thinker who betrayed Misesโ€™s apriorism. He is accused of epistemological relativism and of justifying state coercion. A new essay examines this charge. Link: open.substack.com/pub/paulviโ€ฆ

His name is Jay Dyer
Somewhere in the world there is a man who has never lost a single argument because everyone who talks to him eventually realizes it's not worth it, and he's come to conclude he must be brilliant

This is what England really looked like under Social Democracy
Replying to @Dr_W_E_Bulmer
This is a picture of England under Social Democracy: redistributive taxation; cradle-to-grave welfare state; full employment; nationalised rail, water, power and much else; active state-led industrial policy; strong unions and secure jobs; fully-funded NHS; free higher education.

Apelians vs objectivists
Joe, the coward who blocked me for asking him to justify his claims (he could not). Is now crashing out about objectivism, for the third time. geg.

โ€œPrincipled Libertarianโ€ Thomas Massie when you bring up exposing American ranchers to an ounce of competition or repealing the Jones Act:
What a slap in the face to American cattlemen & consumers. Worse than socialism! Dumping foreign beef in U.S. markets can temporarily lower prices but it wonโ€™t incentivize American farmers to raise more beef. Bring back Country Of Origin Labels & pass my PRIME Act.

โ€œif resources are finite why would we want to embrace the system that uses them most efficientlyโ€
If capitalism is the most efficient system in human history, why does it require endless, exponential growth on a planet with strictly finite resourcesโ€”and what happens to our entire economic model the moment that line inevitably stops going up?

The NDIS doesnโ€™t need to survive. It needs to be abolished and replaced with nothing
To save the NDIS, we have to stop the rorts, waste and abuse. The scheme must be limited to the severely physically disabled and the care they need. Original forecasts said the NDIS would cost half what it is today. It needs to be returned to that before it sends the country broke.
