You are so deeply and beautifully loved by Love Itself.
Nothing else matters.

Luke 15 gives us the parable of The Lost Sheep and The Lost Coin.
You have a Shepherd who lost a sheep and a woman who lost a coin.
Both of them pursue that which was lost with great intensity.
Both celebrate disproportionately to finding what was lost.
Jesus parables reveal The Heart of the Father to us.
So we learn that God will not stop in His pursuit of you until He finds you and when He finds you, His response is pure joy.
He doesn’t know how to quit.
He does not know how to hesitate.
Repent. Come back to him.
Know the explosion of love and joy.
Know the end of shame.
He is looking for you.

Friends, the Beatitudes are all about freeing the soul from attachment to finite goods and ordering it toward the infinite God.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: You’re not distracted by material goods.
Blessed are the meek: You’re not focused on accumulating worldly power.
Blessed are those who mourn: You’re not hung up on the constant need for pleasure.
Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness: You’re not preoccupied with honor and the esteem of others.
Free from all that, you can truly hunger and thirst for righteousness and worship the highest good.

Friends, I don’t think we Christians fully understand how radically we must think about the goal of the Christian life. It is not to become a nice person. An atheist can be a nice person.
The goal is to become a new creation, someone living the very life of God. Jesus is the Son of God by nature, but we become sons and daughters of God by adoption, brought into a share in his life like a child welcomed into a family and their home.
That’s what it means to be a saint: to be invited into the household of God, and to worship God by eating and drinking the body and blood of Jesus, becoming assimilated unto him.

Fr. Nicholas Martell, parochial vicar of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Portland, encourages all Roman Catholics to learn the ordinary prayers of the Mass in Latin, including the Gloria, Sanctus and Agnus Dei, and to become familiar with Gregorian chant, which the Second Vatican Council said should be given “pride of place” in the liturgy. He reiterates that Latin is a treasured part of the Church’s patrimony, uniting Catholics across cultures and backgrounds.

Friends, St. Bernard of Clairvaux said that the goal of the spiritual life is to love God alone for the sake of God alone.
What does he mean by this?
He means we’re loving God not because we’re afraid of what might happen if we don’t, or because we’re trying to get something out of him. Rather—like the love between two spouses—we’re loving him for himself alone. We are lost in the wonder and the beauty and the majesty of God.
That’s the highest kind of love.

I find myself slain by the poverty of my love for God and the ridiculous generosity of His love for me.
And yet He accepts my love as I give it, calling me to more, but loving me where I am.

That which God wants to bring forth out of us is so much more than we want for ourselves.
We must choose to embrace the pain that comes with becoming the men and women God made us to be.
God looks at you and sees something extraordinary, rare and of infinite value
Do not choose the lesser version of you.
Choose His vision of you.

God does not love you because you prayed correctly.
He does not love you because you were able to focus in your prayer.
Your excellent theology does not compel Him to love you better.
He just loves you.
He loves your helplessness.
Your brokenness is a magnet for Him; it attracts, it doesn’t repulse.
Don’t despise your spiritual poverty, it’s the truth about you.
The Father gave us a savior. Don’t be surprised you need one.

Somewhere, there is someone who’s in the same fight as you.
The same struggles, the same blessings.
More than likely, you do not know this person and will not meet them until heaven.
Today, pray for your unknown comrade.
Pray for them to receive affirmation, Grace and peace.
Pray that they stay faithful to the fight.
The fight for holiness is a lifelong fight and it is one we were made for.

Christus Vincit chanted at the beginning of the solemn Eucharistic procession with 5,000 Catholics in Portland, Oregon.
One of the Church's most fitting acclamations in honor of Christ the King.
English translation:
Christ conquers! Christ reigns! Christ commands!
To Leo, Supreme Pontiff and universal Father: peace, life, and eternal salvation.
To Alexander, most Reverend Archbishop, and to all his clergy: peace, life, and eternal salvation.
May good times come. May the peace of Christ come. May the Kingdom of Christ come.

Archbishop Sample: "This Land Does Not Belong to Satan. It Belongs to Christ."
Before leading more than 5,000 Catholics in a Corpus Christi procession, Archbishop Alexander Sample preached on Christ's kingship and the Church's mission to bring Him to the world.
Recalling a solemn rite he conducted a few days earlier, he proclaimed: "This land does not belong to Satan. It belongs to Christ." As Catholics accompanied the Lord Jesus in the Holy Eucharist through the streets, the archbishop reminded the faithful that they are called to bring Christ to their communities.
