This is exactly the kind of kid you want leading your team - a true leader. At the high school level, most kids wait for the coaches to come in after a game and give that speech. Real leaders take the wheel. I’m getting JT Barrett-type leadership from this kid.

All we need is for Luke Fahey to be Max Duggan. If he can complete around 60% of his throws, scramble effectively on key third downs, and get the ball to #4 We’re going to make some noise down the stretch.

I really just hope you enjoy the rest of the season regardless of how it plays out or what the final results look like. We waited over eight months for this - don’t let the uncertainty of this team rob you of the experience. Just enjoy it friends . 😎🅾️

On Halloween night at the Coliseum and for the rest of the season These two players need to be on the field together at all times. We have to put every ELITE playmaker at Luke Fahey’s disposal. #ScaryHours

I want “fuck it” Ryan Day. I want scorched-earth Ryan Day. I want YOLO Ryan Day. Maximum creativity. You can’t mess this up. Literally. The freer the game plan going forward, the better, in my opinion. Let em BALL.

Enough with the Joey O’Brien nonsense. Jay Timmons is out here playing like a full-blown All-American as a freshman. That “freshman All-American” stuff is just a gimmick.

Mann ….. I think we may have just watched 10 take his last snap in the Scarlet & Gray. 🥹 And honestly, that’s a tough thought to sit with right now. Part of me is saddened by it. Another part of me feels a sense of relief as a fan. And I’m still trying to make sense of both. I thought Julian Sayin was a marksman. A surgeon with the football. But I’ve been wrestling with the thought for a while now… How much of his success was truly Julian, and how much was the talent surrounding him? Was Julian’s completion percentage a reflection of his own greatness, or did having those two elite receivers make him look more lethal than he really was? Then I catch myself questioning that take, too. Maybe Julian was the one putting those guys in position to make plays. Maybe he deserves more credit than I’m giving him. I don’t know. I just know that some of my most frustrating Saturdays as a fan came from watching him struggle to escape pressure, make something happen with his legs, or pick up those crucial yards when the offense desperately needed them. Or simply never being able to hit Jeremiah in stride …. I don’t know if we saw his full potential in Columbus . Despite the shortcomings, Julian Sayin will be missed. I feel like Julian is still a mystery . You don’t replace a player like that overnight, and you don’t forget what he brought to the program. And if that was his final snap as a Buckeye, I genuinely wish him nothing but the best. I hope he finds the right place, gets the opportunity he deserves, and flourishes wherever his journey takes him.

You’re hating on Fahey now, but once he starts doing what Julian couldn’t and wouldn’t do Like hitting Jeremiah in stride 30+ yards downfield, evading the rush, and getting first downs on key 3rd downs that energy is going to change.

On The Ohio Podcast Ryan Porter, Luke Fahey’s quarterbacks coach, shared that they put together a 7-on-7 team called Cali Power, with CJ Carr as the starting quarterback. They had a couple of four-star QBs who were supposed to give Carr relief, though Porter didn’t name them to protect their privacy. When those guys couldn’t make the tournament, the team brought Luke Fahey down to Louisiana instead. Ryan said Fahey went throw-for-throw with Carr - they split series - and almost nobody knew who Fahey was at the time. Later that night in the hotel, CJ Carr pulled Ryan Porter aside and told him: “Fahey is the future. That’s the guy I want to mentor. That’s the guy I want to hand the keys to. That’s the kid.” Check out the full interview on The Ohio Podcast - they go deep on who Luke Fahey is and what he’s about. youtube.com/live/bGnXZzHYrqw…

Through the air - USC has already given up • 234 yards to San Jose State • 212 yards to Louisiana (Ragin’ Cajuns), along with 146 rushing yards and 30 points • 292 yards (plus 168 on the ground) to Rutgers • 203 yards to Washington • 289 yards to Penn State No better defense for Fahey to face in his first collegiate start.

Ryan Day still hasn’t disclosed how serious Ja’Kobi Jackson’s injury is. I seriously doubt he’ll give any update on Julian at today’s presser.

Jay Timmons has completely elevated this DB room. Losing Caleb Downs last year left us wondering who’d step up as “that dude” in the secondary. Never expected a freshman to walk in and claim that title. This kid is special.

I see way too many people overreacting right now about 10. I’m not trying to be overly optimistic or a sunshine pumper. I’m just staying positive and think bringing in a backup could actually inject some energy and life into this offense. Look at Florida - they just put in their sophomore backup quarterback, who only had 191 passing yards as a freshman in mop-up duty last year, and he went on the road and beat Texas. Fahey isn’t Julian, and we shouldn’t expect him to be. He’s going to evade the rush, extend plays, and who knows what else he’s capable of. We’ll find out soon enough, and I’m rooting for the kid.

A year ago, Luke Fahey was still sitting in high school classrooms, daydreaming about one day simply putting on the scarlet and gray for Ohio State. He almost certainly never pictured himself lining up as the starter as a true freshman. Yet here we are. The Mission Viejo kid who grew up cheering for the Buckeyes and now has the chance to do something special - head back home to Southern California and make the first start of his college career. He’ll get the opportunity to throw to the greatest receiver of this generation - and, most importantly, to help steer this team toward another national championship run………

If Julian Sayin is out for the year, this team is still built to handle it. Defense just held a top-5 Indiana squad in check, Jeremiah Smith is still a problem for every secondary, and Luke Fahey has the coaches’ trust plus the bye week to get ready. Sayin wasn’t playing his best ball recently he was only 61% throwing against Maryland and 51% throwing against Indiana and we still won both games. If Fahey can take care of the ball, pick up yards when they’re there, and get the ball in #4’s hands, we can still make some noise. Next man up. Go Bucks. 🌰

I don’t know the severity of Julian’s injury. If it turns out to be long-term or season-ending, the next two games look like a good opportunity for Luke Fahey to get adjusted to college football. USC ranks 17th out of 18 in the Big Ten in passing defense and is allowing about 239 yards per game through the air. Oregon is middle-of-the-pack, ranking 9th out of 18 and allowing roughly 215.7 yards per game. This seems like a solid setup to get Fahey some meaningful reps, build his confidence, and help him settle in as the season moves into the later stretch.
