The second best thing about teaching at UC Berkeley (the first is students, obviously) as an experimentalist is a huge treasure chest of vintage demos available to instructors. These are two of my favorites so far for our Quantum course! ⚛️🚀😎😎
Our lab at Berkeley is growing: new fully funded postdoc positions in the Bay Area.
We build hybrid quantum machines—neutral atom arrays interfaced with nanophotonics. Young lab, a ton of new ideas.
Atoms and/or quantum optics? Reach out.

Hiring a fully funded postdoc at UC Berkeley: on-chip photonic interfaces for neutral atom arrays. Looking for nanophotonic fab experience - SiN ideal, but any e-beam/nanophotonic fab background welcome. Joint with @mengjieyu03's group in EECS.
DMs open (please attach CV). 😎
Nature research briefing summarizing our paper on entanglement-enhanced interferometry is out! 🥳 nature.com/articles/d41586-0…
Research update on our entanglement-enhanced interferometry paper from Physics World: physicsworld.com/a/quantum-m…
Quantum entanglement meets astronomy: Our paper "Entanglement-assisted non-local optical interferometry in a quantum network" is out in Nature! 🎉A step toward entanglement-enhanced telescope arrays!

New postdoc openings in our group at UC Berkeley! If you wanted to develop hybrid platforms with neutral atom qubits - reach out (CV attached). Deep experimental experience in AMO, superconducting circuits, or quantum optics (with matter qubits) will be highly relevant!⚛️
Do I know anyone here teaching Quantum Physics/Information Science to a non-physics degree audience? Would love to chat. :)
Really enjoyed QuNeW 2025 in The Hague this week! Big thanks to the organizers for the invitation and an amazing event. If you’re working on quantum networking or distributed QC, don’t miss it: qunew.org/home. And finally got to catch up with friends at TU Delft. 🥳
UC Berkeley Physics is looking for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Theoretical Atomic Physics — an amazing opportunity to join our dynamic AMO/Quantum community. If interested 👉 aprecruit.berkeley.edu/JPF05…
What a great day for quantum physics and the UC Berkeley physics department! 🥳🥳🥳 So well deserved!! nytimes.com/2025/10/07/scien…
Our work at Harvard, in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, on "Experimentally Probing Entropy Reduction via Iterative Quantum Information Transfer," got published in PRX! A super fun deviation from our usual topic into thermodynamics! 🌡️ Congratulations to both teams 🥳
Our platform allows us to validate generalized forms of the second law and fluctuation theorem that incorporate quantum information flow. By comparing Markovian and non-Markovian feedback protocols, we demonstrate how memory enhances accessible information and entropy reduction,
extending quantum thermodynamics to explicitly include causal feedback structures. suleymanzadelab.com/
Thrilled to share that Mireya Gonzales-Rivera has been named one of two 2025 Mercor Graduate Fellows 🎉- selected from 2,000+ applicants!
Mireya joins our lab this fall as an incoming Physics PhD student, where she’ll help us build novel hybrid quantum systems and explore distributed heterogeneous quantum computation.
Huge congratulations to Mireya—and to co‑winner Neil Band (CS PhD in AI, Stanford) as well.
Excited for the discoveries ahead! suleymanzadelab.com/news
