patting the empty space on the bed beside her, grinning as she pulls up the photos on her screen, “there they are.”
she takes a hit of the joint, blowing out a cloud of smoke with a content hum. she needed this too — clearly.
delia laughed, nodding along with him. the mention of their babies makes her heart swell. “you should see the little winter boots i found for stevie.”
she sits back comfortably, watching jax take a well deserved hit. it takes her back for a moment — sitting in her roof in high school, smoking until the sun comes up.
“i know, we’ve been in california for far too long i forgot what winter actually feels like.”
“i’m a baby, i know,” she laughed, resting her head against his shoulder, humming at the gentle kiss to her head.
“here, lemme help,” delia grabs the lighter from her pocket, gesturing for him to bring the unlit joint to his lips.
she mirrors jax’s smile, finding a comfortable spot next to them.
“nope,” she muses, tightening the comforter around her. “besides, i always get cold when i’m smoking.”
and in no time, she’s wandering out with two cokes in hand and a blanket around her shoulders.
“special delivery.”
