šŸ”“ Behind me, you can see Oleshky: the town no one wanted to hear about nine months ago. Now, the world knows but the ordeal is not over. The next week ceasefire will be used for a ā€œpress tourā€ to whitewash Russia's war crimes. Don't fall for Russian propaganda.

When I read that lawmakers were warning that any political figures supportive of Ukraine were likely on Russia’s radar, I knew I had to bring in my favorite movie. Learn to spot the AI powered Russian disinformation and make a plan to vote. A tip of the cap to @steadystate2025

A few days after arriving in Kyiv, I caught myself thinking: it's just Shaheds. Just. That’s how quickly the abnormality of war can start becoming routine. My first story from Ukraine: Mostly Sunny, With Scattered Drones. breefram.substack.com/p/most…

One year out from my last day in uniform, I’ve had a lot of endings that close chapters, not the story. It doesn’t mean those endings don’t still hurt, they do. I choose the smile anyway. Here’s why. breefram.substack.com/p/the-…

Tomorrow, Pride Month begins. Queer folks face real challenges right now—which is exactly why it matters to remember: LGBTQIA+ people lead in extraordinary ways and build brighter futures for all of us. It's why we wrote Forging Queer Leaders. Maybe somebody who needs this can read it. šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

Between the hiking, altitude, disc golf, and trying to heed my wife’s admonition of ā€œdon’t fall off a mountain,ā€ my downtime in Colorado was perfect for revisiting some of the books I recommend most often and thinking about the future. open.substack.com/pub/breefr…

Community Highlight: Northern Virginia Food Rescue The campaign may be over, but the work to build stronger communities goes on. During my campaign, I wanted to highlight people and organizations doing incredible work every day to help our communities thrive. We started recording these conversations right before the redistricting ruling and didn’t get the chance to share them. I don’t want that work to stop. So today I’m starting with Dr. Megan Franco and Northern Virginia Food Rescue in Manassas. Food insecurity exists even in some of the wealthiest areas of Virginia. @novafoodrescue is tackling it with an innovative network of food donors, volunteers, and distribution partners. They’ve already distributed more than 30 million meals into the community! Watch their story. Check out their work. And consider getting involved. Who should we highlight next? If you know someone whose story should be told, send me a suggestion or make a connection.

ā€œThis campaign gave me hope at a moment when it can feel increasingly hard to come by and I’m confident we gave that same feeling to others.ā€

While I’ll make a decision on my own future path soon, you can count on me to always put country first and to remain part of the fight for an America that is better tomorrow than it is today. -Bree Fram

No corporate PAC money. No watered-down values. Just a campaign rooted in service, courage, and the belief that Virginians deserve better.

One year ago, the Supreme Court allowed the transgender military ban to move forward, ending the careers of countless dedicated service members. Donald Trump can take away our uniforms, but he can't take away our fight. That’s why I’m running for Congress. Because every American is the right kind of American, and every voice deserves to be heard.

We need a cure, not a band-aid, when it comes to caring for Americans. Healthcare costs shouldn't bankrupt you. We must pursue universal healthcare.
