Winter is on its way, which for most means a wet, spongy course. Ours is different. It drains well and stays firm underfoot well into the colder months, which makes it a much better winter course than many expect from a parkland.

Our greens from above. Small and full of character, some boldly contoured, others more subtle. Even a three-footer can mean aiming a foot outside the hole.
A good putter with a bit of local knowledge will always have an edge around our greens.
Your round starts just yards from the clubhouse. Up and over the hill, a marker post for your line, and more room than it looks once you are up there.
The leaves are turning, the mornings are crisp, and the course looks as good as it has all year. Autumn is a lovely time to see it for yourself.

Located alongside the railway that runs from Worcester to Birmingham, and also on the Lickey incline - the steepest section of railway in Great Britain - our eleventh is another of our great one shotters.

Our 5th, before, after, and now. Opening up the view down the 6th, making the green look larger and even more undulating than before. A huge improvement.
A parkland site that's seen everything this year, unprecedented rainfall in the early months, then extreme drought and heat all summer, no fairway irrigation to fall back on. Through all of it, the course has stayed in superb shape.

With the golfing world's eyes on Lahinch for the 51st Walker Cup, it feels fitting to look back at Bobby Jones' visit to Blackwell in 1930.
A man synonymous with the Walker Cup, his stop at the club was made possible by the 1928 match at Chicago.
The cluster of bunkers between our 3rd and 8th fairways serves a dual purpose.
Beautifully shaped, they look untouched since Tom Simpson placed them there over a century ago, and they remain just as effective today, sitting exactly where bailout shots tend to finish.
Often, parkland golf can be solely an aerial pursuit, at times repetitive and requiring little imagination.
We're fortunate with the course we have. Take the 14th for example: a pin tucked back left is still accessible if you're creative.
Our stunning 13th hole demands respect. Bunkers guard the front, a winding ditch threatens bailouts to the right, and the left-to-right sloping green means no putt is a gimme. Treacherous beauty at its finest.

Views like this from the very first hole - not bad for a 10-minute drive from Junction 1 of the M42 and Junction 4 of the M5.
Our 11th has undergone a significant transformation. Tree removal has flooded the green with light and airflow, while our team, guided by Frank Pont, built new bunkers all in-house. A striking reshaping of the hole.
