Never seen so many people upset about more kids getting an extra football game. Reminds me of the Indiana class basketball debate from 30 years ago. Great things about both debates is people care - that’s a huge positive.

IHSA Opening Round Football Stats -(2-7) teams went 3-15 this weekend. -(3-6) teams went 12-40 and 6 of the (3-6) winners were private schools. -(4-5) teams went 26-35 Losing record teams went 41-90 in the opening rounds.

No good reason other than NFL didnt get paid to allow it. Ben Solomon: Memorization should not be a dirty word in math. Adults are the problem, NOT kids. Kids are proud when they memorize math facts. This is essential for later math.

Ain’t nothing like high school football. The one sport you can never replicate again. Idc where I’m at, I get emotional watching guys who poured everything into ball, come up short and realize it’s all over. Greatest sport in the world for all the right reasons.

In college our kicker got hurt getting off the bus and every fat guy tried out for kicker and we lost 14-12 to #8 team in country on the road.

While at Texas, Steve McMichael filled in at kicker and went 8/10 on extra points and 2/3 on field goals. Then he won a Super Bowl, joined the Four Horsemen, got ejected from Wrigley Field by Angel Hernandez for calling him blind, and made the Hall of Fame. That’s a career.

Linemen are not eligible to carry the ball unless they are picking up a fumble or a ball is deflected. You haven’t seen this penalty called because most coaches know that rule and don’t try and hand it to a lineman like a dumbass.
