The Government needs to engage consultants meaningfully to avoid strike action. Taking months, or years, to solve the problems is not an option.

In an independent BMA poll, 9/10 members of the public said consultants should be paid competitively, comparable to competitor countries, 9/10 wanted their care overseen by a senior doctor. 84% were worried about the long term stability of the NHS without this. Link follows.
